Do you have a peice of string and a ruler? if you wrap the string around the outside of the pipe and then mark where the string comes back around to itself and mark it you can measure the length. Knowing the length of the string is the same as knowing the circumfrence of a circle. Then you can use a little math (the formula is C=3.14(approx)*d) and voila! You've got the diameter!
