Hi, I was wondering if anyone has gotten an accurate reading on what the Diameter of the Front Sway Bar is on an S13, Chuki if it makes a difference.

When I bought my hatch it came with an aftermarket Front Sway Bar installed. I am unsure of the Brand because the 240's Original Owner, I am now the 3rd Owner, installed it. Therefore the person who sold it to me, also had no idea what kind it was, he believes Suspension Technique but it looks like a stock sway bar, just thicker. (Only ST Sways I have seen are Lime Green, so I do not know if Old School ST Sways looked Stock)

Well here is the deal, I was wondering if someone had a 100% accurate read, or can obtain one, on how thick the S13's Stock Front Sway Bar is. If you have one of those Digital Diameter Readers, that would be great. I can get one from my old High School to measure my front one, but it is closed for winter break now. ( 3 Lifts, Snap-On Tools, basically anything needed for a car, even had a paint booth at one time, now the computer lab )

The reason I am asking is because if this Front Sway Bar is worthy of keeping as a thick aftermarket one, I would much rather spend $280.00 on just a Whiteline Rear Sway Bar, then $280.00 on Front/Rear Suspension Technique Swaybar combo, when I got a good front already installed, feel me?

So yea if you could just grab a quick read for me, so I can compare I would really appreciate it. That way I can make the best buy, for when I purchase new sway bar(s) down the line.

Why I would want them: Daily Driver that is worthy of Track Compitition, Wanted.

Old S/T bars are grey. I have a set on my car.

Found in search:S13: (se without Abs/lsd package) Front bar 25mm, 17mm in the rear.S13: (non se) Front bar 24mm, 15mm in the rear.

Suspension techniques - Front bar 28.6mm, 20.64mm in the rear. Solid steel construction. Stock type endlinks

Having just installed the bars (rather, transferred them from wrecked coupe to new fastback) I can say it's a WORLD of difference and I HIGHLY recommend for everyone to get swaybars immediately.

Awesome, Doh on my part, should have searched!!

Yea the front one is Grey, so the Suspension Technique theory may hold true. I can already feel a difference compared to my last Hatchback, even though I only have the Front. Well when school's back in session, ima head back over there and if the Front Sway measures +/- 28.6 then I know its an Old School ST, and I can get the Whiteline Rear.

Thanks for the Help Alex, much appreciated.

I like this:

Stock SE:

Front: 24mmRear: 17mm

Front ST: 28.6mmRear Whiteline: 22mm

Numbers dont lie, that is a hell of a difference...

Now I know Front is a direct swap, what is needed for rears to fit again, was it the Endlinks, D Links, or what?

Yeah, you need the d-brackets for sure (those usually come with bushings too). As for endlinks, I went to autozone and just got some that looked like they were the right length (and they were!!). They came with poly bushings too.

Alex

ha, yup. THAT alex lol. I'll shoot money your way this weekend or monday for that carpet :D
