My washer fluid was low and the display unit in the instrument cluster now reads LOW WASHER, even though I filled it up. How can I get rid of this message on the display?

Also, I just did some work on my fuse box socket, because of a problem relating to my brake lights and now the display reads TAIL/STOP LAMP INOPERATIVE. My barke lights and tail lights are OPERATIVE. How do I get rid of the message on the display?

BTW Wes, I removed the battery cable last night hoping that might resolve the issue, and that didn't fix it either.

The diagnostic display has no memory and just responds to real time inputs from the various sensors:

washer level, low fuel, door open, brake pad worn are all off because a terminal to chassis ground is in place [open ground display on as appropriate].

The other 6 messages result from a voltage signal being applied or removed to/from diagnostic module.

Don't assume that light out display means exactly that..........a light out signal is derived from measuring the current draw per side..........one side can be different enough to trigger [1 bulb out or almost out.....different enough...........90-93 have multiple bulbs in parallel while 94 has fewer, 1 bulb out or dim can trigger the difference against the preprogrammed as new value!

All nicely shown in FSM if you are a BSEE and can read complex schematics.

Check the float in the washer fluid container. It might be stuck. You also might fiddle with the brake bulbs to see if they turn off. What type of work did you do on the fuse box? Maybe something is shorted out or blown?

There was a socket behind the fuse box that was burnt that was just repaired to make my brake lkights work.

I just the washer fluid reservoir and I don't see a float. I haver a mesh screen to help avoid getting contaminents inside, but that's all.

What type of socket are you talking about? Do you have pictures? For anything to be burnt, I think you'd have had to be running a much larger than specified fuse. Probably put there by someone as a cover-up for blowing the fuse when the overloaded/corroded rear sockets started shorting intermittantly. Check your light sockets for corrosion and dark discolorations and replace all bulbs with OEM or Sylvania LL bulbs. Should solve your issues. Not sure on the washer fluid.
