I posted long ago about the problem my 03 Pathfinder developed, it was impossible to drive in 1st or 2n gear at a very slow traffic speed (parade speed) the car would nose over as if you stomped the break, the engine would buck, but it never happened when throttling thru in a faster speed, only when driving very slow, Went to 3 different shops, have had 4 different analyzers say 'Faulty Mass Air Flow Censor" Total lie, diagnostic devices only get close to a problem most time but never really tell the truth, Todays shop do not have REAL mechanics, just some one that sees a code and swaps out that part. So after 3 different shop bills, a new MAF and still the same problem at slow throttle, I find a REAL small shop mechanic that was a wizard with Nissan and all their bull zh1t censors, sending units, relays, computer chips he went under hood with a simple voltage regulator tester and checked every single electrical device there was, of course after all those hours the very last censor he tested was the actual problem all along,,, BAD THROTTLE POSITION CENSOR, do you think those fancy dancy plug in diagnostic devices could spot that, FOOOK NO! by the time all bills for labor and parts were added up I had over $575.00 replacing a damn $49.00 part! I'm glad I"m old and can still disassemble any 70's era GM or MOPAR and clean it, restore it, rebuild the engine and put it back together like a new one, I'd rather be dead than buy a $90,000.00 POS high teck car or truck today, they just aren't that repairable and they just don't last past the warranty. They're are no more true mechanics, just unskilled people with an analyzer that couldn't figure there way out of a paper bag! Jus sayin that's all!

Glad you got it fixed.

In the time it took you to write all that, you could have come in here with the symptoms and our tech experts would have probably identified the issue in moments. :)

Makes no sense anyway. The TPS on an '03 is integrated with the Throttle Body, and that isn't a $49 part unless you order it from Guangdong and sneak it through Vietnam by rowboat to avoid the tariff. So whatever was actually done, it wasn't replacing the TPS.

I bet the TB had carbon cakes and the tech just cleaned it out.

Yep, absolutely yummy... unless they give your car indigestion when you hit the gas.
