diagnosing suspension

95 240sx no suspension modsa while back went drifting hit a curb or 3 every time i go over a speed bump,turn the wheel too sharply or too far, brake fast hit any pot holes a clunk/thump appears and can be felt (right front area)this to me seems that something is loose or broken for sure im sure its not my tie rods and would thos even make that kinda noise?maybe tension rods or brace? ball joints?help me out i havent actually gotten under the car been too busy latley but i have taken a quick peek under it it only looks scraped up on the tension rod bracket

any info would be great thanks

oh and i can feel it through the steering wheelwhen im turning sharply the steering wheel jumps slightly when the noise occurs

Sounds like you have bent or broken either the front lower control arm, or the tension rod. Also possible is damage to the tie rod or tie rod end. Check these components, and replace as needed (with better stuff if you are drifting), and watch out for the curbs. Heim jointed tension rods will give you much better turn-in feel, and are a bit stronger. Good tie rods and ends (like TEIN), will actually give you much better steering angle for drifting (you can also amaze your friends by doing a u-turn in about a 20 ft circle!)
