Hey Guys,

I have a 96 Z32 N/A and I have noticed a slight squeking noise coming from my front left suspension. I am trying to find the specific culprit of the noise so that I can replace it. It is not a constant noise but only occurs when car hits any sort of bump. I only notice it at slow speeds, most likely because I can not hear it a higher speeds. But worth mentioning right? Im thinking a bad bushing or squeky shock? Not too familiar of what commonly goes wrong on the cars suspension. Any help is appreciated!

Thanks,
Collin

Try opening the hood and bouncing that corner of the car a little. Mine was squeaking at the top of the shock where it fastens to the body. I could hear it much more easily with the hood open.

I little WD-40 and the squeak hasn't been back.

It might also help to have someone else bounce it while you get close to the suspension in the wheel well to try and pinpoint it. schwar76 makes a good point, there's a paper gasket that goes between the strut mount and the frame that deteriorates over time. If it's gone completely then the metal on metal contact could make it squeak. Dry or worn out bushings can also make squeaks
