well i can finally "get on" my car car since the clutch is broken in, but im having issues when i get into the higher rpms.t3/t04e, 615 injectors, enthalpy tune, 2 stage colder plugs(bkr7e), 13psi.1st and 2nd are fine (well they probably arnt but its so quick of gears i cant tell) but then once i get it into 3rd and it get to around 5.5k it starts sputtering and doest rev past 6.2k. i never noticed this problem before because my clutch slipped that high up in the rpm range. The plugs completely tell me thats its detonation for sure, need some help please, plugs are gapped at .030.-tim

Not sure if its the probelm but a .032 gap my car wouldnt go past 12 psi. I dropped the gap to .026-.028 and I was good up to 17 psi

regapped them to .028, didnt do anything for me. i retarded the timing a little bit at a time until i was at the end of the distributor, so it cant be timing, i dont think.p.s. this sucks alot.-tim

hows your vac at idle? did you use a timing light when you retarted timing? does it kinda fall on its face at upper rpm's?

im not really sure what my vac is because i cant find the right spot to hook up my boost gauge to, but i do have my boost gauge hooked up to a place on the intercooler piping.still not sure how vac. could affect it, please explain.no i did not use a timing light when i was retarding it, like i said i was just doing it to see if it would work, but it didnt, lol. my tune is enthalpy, so it should be good, i think it might have something to do with my coil, or something dealing with spark, but that wouldnt explain the white(exaggeration) spark plugs, would it?

What kind of coil do you have?

Hook your boost gauge up to the Fuel Pressure Regulator line. Get me on MSN messanger at [email protected] if you need any pics or any help.

hey fanatic,i have the stock coil, i just checked the ecu codes and it gives me beep..beep beep so that would be 21, and 21 is...http://ka24development.com/ecu_codes.html21 - Ignition signal in the primary circuit is not being entered to the ECU during cranking or tuningthats a little convienient.do you think my coil is ****ting out at higher rpm's, i mean it would make sense since its in the higher rpms, but i dont see why i would run lean, if i am running lean, it seems like it, the tip of the plug is a little too white imo.-tim

If your coild is marginal, it may be having issues tying to provide enough energy for a spark at 13 psi. If you are able to, try pulling the boost down(maybe as low as 5 psi if possible) and see if the problem persists. Ifit goes away, you may need a new or upgraded coil. 13 psi is getting close to having double the air in the cylinder than the factory intended. Even a beand new coil will be getting close to it's limits at that kind of boost.

Doubtful the sputtering is a result of detonation. Since fuel is still burning when detonation occurs, it would still power the motor and turbo.

thanks alot ckwik i will try to lower the boost tommorow, what do you think the best way to do that would be? i dont have a boost controller, i might be able to make a manual one, anyone know how to make one? i bet i can find one at a shop around here, ill search though.peace-tim

Replace the coil. Now or later, you will need it anyways. Plus its like $40. I am almost positive that is your problem.

Boost controllers cannot lower boost. Wastegate spring pressure is the lowest boost you can run.

You'ld have to run a lower psi spring in the wastegate(external) or a lower psi actuator(internal).

i say regap ur plugs to a lower number like .25 and if nothing changes, go with a new msd coil. follow cory's (nissanfanatic240) directions on how to install the msd coil when u get it.
