Detonation/Ping

Im getting a detonation sometimes when around 3700rpms or im guessing its a detonation? (pop/backfire sound)
this only usually happens in 1st gear, if/when it happens it does not always make the sound

that should mean my knock sensors are working since it doesnt happen at low rpms right?
would I then turn to ignition timing?

she has Injen Intake and Catback Exhaust doubt that would require a ECU tuning?

or am I on the wrong track of what this sound is

Yeah, I would def check your ignition timing.

detonation sounds liek marbles in your exhaust and your ecu would correct for it anyhow, stock n/a that shouldn't be an issue

it's never a bad idea to check the ignition timing but i suspect you have a rich condition causing excessive fuel to burn in the exhaust

and no a cai does nto necesitate an ecu retune

hmm where would suggest to start?

also the past day or so sumtimes when starting the car i hear an electric whine? coming from right behind the drivers seat (fuel pump?) would a faulty fuel pump cause this?

O2 sensors would cause a rich condition.
