Detailing the scratch resistant paint

I noticed my Black EX35 doesn't shine as much as my Black Lexus GS460. I was going to take it to the detailer for a highspeed compound and polish followed by an orbital wax.

Is that okay, or is it not a good idea given the scratchshield paint.

From what I have read on the interweb, it does offer a challange to finish properly.You can go to autotopia.org and do a search, there are some detailers that won't even do Infiniti's because of the issues. It is incredibly soft and is difficult to polish. But there are people out there that do polish the Infiniti's.Just make sure the guy you choose is not going to ruin it.Good luck and let us know how it works out.

I used the Porter Cable (white pad) on my 2010 EX and it was no different than polishing the wife's G35.

also, dont forget that Lexus paints have a slight metallic coating.

Infiniti tho the name my say metallic, are all pearl paints.

i havent used any electric polishing tools yet please let us know how it turns out!

I use Zaino (show car polish) and am very happy with the results. I started using their products with my Lexus SC 430 and have always been impressed with The results. I actually called the owners of Zaino and they said their product is fine on the EXs finish. The polish gives a lot of depth and I think the application is easy. My SC is Pearl White and the feel and looks cant be beat-I have had many compliments. I drive the SC and the wife drives the EX.

why did you get the information that the ex uses pearl paint. is it only applied to a certain color or all of the color options are pearl paint?
