Just wanted to know if anyone has had any experience with OptiCoat (OC) 2.0, polymer sealants or clear bras. I have an 06 M35 with SOFT black paint and lots of swirl marks and some RIDS. Going to need a 2 step correction to correct prior to OC or sealant. Any feedback would be appreciated.

I never used OC but I use a one step polish with M205 along with LC white pad with a PC. Great results. Top it off with blackfire wet diamond sealant. My car is also black

I have a 2007 M45 Sport in black with the world's softest clear coat as well. I have been considering going the Opticoat route or the blackfire wet diamond treatment. A dual-action polisher is essential to trying to get the swirls out before sealant application. I was going to try the Langka touch-up system to cover a few small chips first.

MOWellsinVA,

Langka process looks promising. I was not familiar with it before you mentioned it. Have you heard of a product called Infinite Diamond Shield or or 22PLE glass coating? Are you planning to do it yourself? I have heard the Opticoat is the most difficult to apply and its easy to leave high spots.

Slasher: I had not heard of those two products; I'll look them up.

Infinite Diamond Sheild is a product put out by Gary Dean. 22PLE glass coating on the market used by a lot of pro detailers. Google the name Todd Cooperider or Todd Helme. Helme is the Director of Development for your Blackfire products. Cooperider and Helme are 2 of the best detailers in the US. None of those products claim to be permanant like the OC.

Not permanent, but a lot easier to apply, and no worries about screwing up the application as with OptiCoat.

The 22ple product sounds very impressive. I'm probably going to give it a try.

MO,

I will probably end up trying that Langka product. I appreicate your input. I thought that more people on this forum would have some experience with the coatings. Or at least have an opinion on them.

Optimum opti-coat 2.0 is a great product and very popular on AG.
Though the surface should be corrected before applicationas its a permanent coating and will lock defects. Its polishable so any hight spots can be leveled. I do not have it on my vehicle yet as I did not do a 100% correction yet but once I have good amount of time I will. My favorite sealants are JetSeal by Chem Guys ( love all their products ) and Menzerna Powerlock topped off with Pete's 53 or 50/50 both nubas give my metallic a nice pop. But sealant is most important as it last longer than wax , approx. 2-4 months.
