I have been a contributor on other auto forums and have learned quite a bit from them.
I found this article on Audiworld a while back and it has served me well. It recommends products and procedures that I never would have thought to use.
As a result, I purchased a Porter Cable 7424 orbital buffer and found that it and some of the products I have learned about helped me keep swirl marks to a minimum and my cars looking like new.

Maybe there should be a new forum here that strictly deals with detailing.
By the way, the reason that I joined this forum was that I purchased an 08 G35 XS. This car will replace my Audi S4, but that is a totally different issue for another thread.

Thank you very much for the link chairman, great list and advice even with step by step instructions for wash polishing and waxing! smockers, i just cleaned my car today with your advice and i must say it looks great, took me about 3hrs and 30 mins but it was well worthet. ONE problem that happend and i want to know WHY it happend. After waxing up the whole car then cleaning it off i found a deep swirl mark that was not their before and looks like it happend from me. What did i do wrong on this one particular spot? How does this happen?

Sorry to hear that happened man. If its pretty deep, I'd say a grain of dirt may have gotten on your applicator. I'd need a picture to analyze to be able to really tell you...if you can get one.
