I also upgraded my connection speed with COX Cable for free from 5 mbps max to 25 mbps max speed. Last night on speedtest.net I clocked almost 22 mpbs download. Graded 86% faster then global
So last week my laptop hard drive failed something about too many pictures of kittens playing in wet grass... anyhow. I replace the hard drive with a 1tb and reinstalled software. The 22mbps was on my wifes laptop mine was getting 15 or so. This moring I did the speed test again, my ping dropped from a min to 10ms, download was 30.34 mbps upload 12.91 mbps. I know time of day plays into bandwidth but my pc is much faster then it was few short days ago all the time. I wonder how much of our internet speed frustration is caused by software and fragmented hard drive. I may have to start formating my drive twice a year I could really get used to this speed!
