The local auto parts store in my area are telling me that I have t go to the dealer for the front shocks case I have the all wheel version. Can u guys point me in the right direction for after market shocks or inexpensive coil overs. The cheapest set I saw was around 900. Thx.

$900 is about the cheapest you are going to find for coilovers.

And a full suspension job will likely run you $700 or so just in parts.

And where can I get the coil overs for 900 or 700?

Hey Corey, I think some of us are scratching our heads over your last post. In your original post you stated "The cheapest set I saw was around 900. Thx." yet you are asking us where you can get coilovers for 900?

Anyway to answer your question you can definitely just replace your shocks and use OEM springs for less than $1000. OEM front shocks are about $400 each and the rears you can just buy from KYB spec'd for the RWD models since they are exactly the same. I believe those sell for around $50 each. If you prefer the OEM ride feeling then go for this option.

If you want to drop your car get the shocks suggested above and get lowering springs.

If you want the go-kart feel and the ability to play around with various height settings go with either K-Sport, D2 or BC Racing coilovers. The K-Sport and D2 coilovers are true coilovers in that the rears are springs over shocks. The BC's are separate like OEM. I've got D2's and am finding 24 front 20 rear to be a decent setting.

Price is around $1000 for the set including shipping, BC's being a bit more expensive.

Wow I take my last post back. I didn't realize they raised the price of coilovers. BC are now the cheapest along with Megan Racing. D2 and K-Sports are $1200+!!! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=slPAiGyX61s

Yes.

If you re-use old springs and get new struts in the front and shocks in the rear, you're looking at around $700 in parts +/- some $$$ (without labor).

If you get coilovers, you are looking at at least $1k without labor.

This is why I went with coilovers when my suspension started going. I got the added bonus of adjustable dampening (I run all four corners on the absolute softest setting) and looks that go with lowering the car and only spent $300 or so more (I did my own work).

Depends on what you want from the car.

I just recently upgraded my X to the BC Racing BR Type coilovers about 6 wks ago. It's much more stiff suspension than stock but they are adjustable dampening so you can play with it. I got mine for a little under 1k. I'm not sure how much install would be at a shop bc I did my own install to save me $$. But I am overrall very pleased with the coilovers and the new look. I hated the huge gap on the front wheels.
