my dell is turning 8 or 9 years old next week, and i think its about time to replace it. However, I have no idea what to buy. I have been looking at options from cyberpower and they have been the most appealing. I would like a 17" monitor screen(what I have now), but a 19" flat panel would be awesome. This would be used mainly for some hardcore forum trolling, but it would be nice to play need for speed or FIFA once in a while. Budget is $1000 TOPS. I would like the new computer to last al long as this one has, or even longer. I have never built a computer before swapping hard drives is the most I've ever done.

Sparknotes:

-$1000 budget-reliable-5.1 audio?-dual core processor-19" monitor-DVD player/writer-I was also thinking about getting a graphics card with a TV out so that I can get wireless gamepads and play through the TV (so it would be like playstation but w/better graphics)(computer is around the corner from PC, so about 10 feet)

For $1000 bucks I can build you a rock solid machine. With the specs you want and some, as far as reliable it comes with a Three year warranty.

Dell is good, but stick with me. Ill take care of you :D.

The only thing different really with that rig and that one is its a little fast and has an extra gig of memory. But it falls way short from the video card you wanted. Ill mix these and the specs you send me and get a quote. Im thinking $800-900. Ill let you know.

Even that rate is pretty good. I have an "old" HP Pavillion (P4 2.53GHz, 1.5GB memory) that has been a true workhorse with no issues so I have been looking at another Pavillion replacement. Your price is better than theirs for sure:

• Genuine Windows Vista Home Premium (32-bit)• Intel(R) Core(TM) 2 Duo processor E6550 (2.33GHz)• 4GB DDR2-667MHz dual channel SDRAM (4x1024)• 512MB NVIDIA GeForce 8500GT, TV-out, DVI-I, HDMI• No Modem• 320GB 7200 rpm SATA 3Gb/s hard drive• LightScribe 16X max. DVD+/-R/RW SuperMulti drive• 15-in-1 memory card reader, 2 USB, 1394, video, audio• ATSC-NTSC TV tuner with PVR, FM tuner, remote• Integrated 7.1 channel sound w/front audio ports• Norton Internet Security(TM) 2007 - 15 Months• Microsoft(R) Works 8.0• HP 20-inch LCD Wide Flat Panel Monitor• HP keyboard and HP scroller mouseAccessories

So....what would a price be for.....

mini-tower --- connections: (front) 2ea USB and 1 FireWire (can be optional as long as one is on the back) --- connections: (back) 4 USB + printer --- Minimum of 2ea CD/DVD slots for burnersGraphics-quality video card (I don't do gaming)Decent sound card (On-board 7.1 would probably be fine too)Quality motherboard w/minimum Intel core 2 processor (optional quad)4GB ram (must be as fast as processor speed, no 533MHz or less with 1066/1600 FSB processors)300GB+ SATANO DVD/CD drives (I have two new ones)NO monitorNO modemGigabit Ethernet portOptional card readerWindows XP (Vista optional)

System is primarily for web design and graphics processing. Some video conversions as well.

Also, I need a card for my P4 as I will be connecting it to my home entertainment system (HP Pavillion 754n) thus it will need HDMI and audio outputs.

You can eMail me with pricing if you like (see profile). I probably won't purchase anything for at least a few weeks (gotta pay off my new TV first )

Would you be able to quote me on a mobo + processor + ram in 2-3 months? I'm looking to jump ship to 45nm Intel w/mobo and ram.

what does the warranty cover? is it comprehensive? If a part fails, do I send it to you and get a replacement?

Since you are installing XP it wont cover any software.

But it will cover every single part on that tower. I will send you the warranty information and you send it back to me. Which I submit to the company stating I built it and I will do any repairs if necessary.

Since you are in IL and im in SC. If a part fails, i will walk you though the steps of removal then I will send you a label so you DO NOT have to pay for shipping, and you will ship it to me. Yor wait time if you go down would be 1-2 days.

The only thing that would void the warranty are obvious signs of water damage, or if there is damage because of tampering.

To add, the Power supply, tower and memory will come with a limited Lifetime warranty. Pretty much if it fails you get a new one.

Few more questions:

Do you take paypal? What kind of prices can you get on keyboards and speakers? For example, I am interested in these things in addition to what you have listed:
