I got laid off today. So I thought I would start a thread about the best day of your life.

I have no wife or kids so I will describe a day when I was racing Enduro Karts in the mid 90s.

I was racing at Road America, in a 135cc class. I had won the previous day(Saturday) by a good margin. My father after the race was admitted to the hospital overnight for severe heat exhaustion. I came from the the Hotel on Sun morn, and did warm ups. For the Second time in over 15 years my father was not there to start me. It was a very stange feeling. I wished he was there.

But later in the morning my Mom, Grandma, and Grandfather drove up to watch me race. They picked up my Father from the Hospital, and arived a short time before my Sun race.

I had a hard fought battle between one of my close friends on the track. I made a lapped traffic pass going down into turn 8 splitting 2 lapped cars very closely, to try and keep ahead of second place. I believe it to be the beat racing move I had mad in my 15 years of racing.

Unfortunatly the second place kart spun, but I ended up winning by over a minute.

I was greeted by my Family and we were overwhelmed with happiness. You would of thought I won the Indy 500.

We had Dinner on the way home from the track, and it was a celebration.

It was the first time and last time my Mother, Grandma, and my Grandfather was there to see me victorious.

I had wins before but this one was sweeter than all the rest.

My Grandfather talked about that day to all his friends until he passed away.

That was the best day of my life.

I got fired on Nov. 1st of this year, the very FIRST day following my transfer to a new department (they didn't want me to transfer in the first place, so they found a BS excuse to fire me).

It'll work out man, I had a job (a better one) by the 29th. I spent those days in the middle flipping out about what I was going to do, but stuff works out.

I dont think its the d-speed one. They look similar, but certain things are different. Looks like the body line on the bumper in the pic actually sticks out a bit, and the d-speed one doesnt. And the front bumper doesnt have the vents in the front. I dunno, HOPEFULLY someone will know what it is.

As sad as it sounds, back two summers ago at a Local car show in Pittsburgh. It wasnt a great show really... but it was probibly one of the largest import shows ever in PGH "Street Outlawz II"

It began about 2 months before when my friend decided to enter a show after reciving all his parts from his well earned $. We stripped the interior, rewired the antenna, dyed the blue interior black, racing seats installed w/ 3" sparco 5 pt harness' (the passenger seat wasnt even mounted in time). the car had a Border body kit installed by a friends garage, an ADR wing mounted and the blades painted to match the car, any imperfections were removed and it was repainted Caddilac Escallade Pearl White. We used to leave right after school go strait to that shop and work on that car for hours.

We woke up that morning and my buddy and I went to the Subaru dealer to see about getting a 2.5 RS front end for his Impreza. and we saw a caprice lowrider on the side of the road as well as the STi's out front. Then a Ferrari 360 buzzed by... we then proceded to visit a friend at work were again the Ferrari buzzed by. got free icecream. then got to drive my moms new Eclipse around to pick our friends up. We had a 5 car convoy out to the show and on R22 we heard a scream from behind us as the SAME Ferrari flew by at about 100mph. The show wasnt all that special but there were some REALLY nice cars there, but the real pride came from all the compliments on the MR2 we had been workin on up untill the DAY BEFORE the show. my buddy was inducted into a club (Under Destruction). the bikini contest also wasnt that bad >: ) and some more of our wild friends came with a "Skin 2 Win" sighn that made us famous that night. We got the winner of the contest to pose on my buddies car (so hot) and we then went to Hooters for dinner where we had a great time (& such a hot waitress...... we left a big tip). The MR2 didnt win any awards since it was up against Supras etc. in its class but it didnt matter we stayed their thru the night, evacuated b/c of a fire drill, watched burnouts in the p-lot, till it all ended and we cruized home. (after curfew I might add)

overall it was such a great day just being with the people ya love... thanks for the great post idea NismoDavehope everyone else gotta kick outta it. (Srry for the length)

Sounds like that was a great day man.

At least someone is using this thread for what it was created for.

It seems like anytime I get a deer while hunting with my grandfather it becomes a very memorable moment. I'm the last grandson that hunts, so we spend quite a bit of time hunting together. Hopefully he can set me up on a wild turkey this spring.

the best day of my life will be when I get my own car...with my hard-earned money.but so far it was my girlfriends birthday. her party was going to be on a small island with a lagoon (Blue lagoon island Nassau Bahamas, off da chain)

unfortunately, my dad didn't get me to the terminal in time and I just missed the ferry. Luckily the nice ppl working there told me I could catch the next ferry and when I came up short on money they STILL let me go...(Her mom was paying for everyone)the ferry had to come back from the island, so that took like an hour and a half.... When I finaly got there I had a hard time looking for them (I scoured the island and didn't see em)so I thought to myself...the best way to find someone is to stay in one place. So I thought to go to the lunch area and wait there...Sure enough, there they were. eating.I snuck up behind her and covered her eyes. it was pricelessshe lost her appetite, we snuggled in a hammock ...her mom dropped me home lol

sorry about your job. Hope you can find another soon.

As for the best day of my life was at The Chicago RSR event. I got to drift on the track and watch the RSR pros. Got a free pair of RSR mechanics gloves and got to sit in the RSR supra before the festival started.

Yeah dude, sorry about that. Ive been trying to find out what kind of kit that is forever. Didnt mean to jack up the thread....felt kinda bad about it.

So I suppose I should describe the best day of my life. It hasnt happened yet. Im in japan right now, so I should be happy with the car situation that Im in, but I have to go back to the states eventually and I cant take my skyline with me. But more than likely the best day of my life will be when I finally go back to the states and I can start working on a 240. Or when Im done with it and take it to the strip and beat my dads 85 camaro with a 502 in it. Yeah like thatll happen Itll take too much money to get a 240 down into the LOW 10's
