Can the pilot bushing be installed to far in? When putting the trans back in I had a hell of a time getting it to go in the bushing but after like an hour of pushing it finally went in, at that point i thought the trans might have pushed the bushing too far back thus not resting in the bushing. So now I hear this rubbing noise during low RPM. Is this possible?

I don't know but if you hammered it in(pilot bearing) flush with the bushing with which it sets itself in, you shouldn't have a problem. They usually design it so that what youre talking about doesn't occur. I havent heard of it.
