Depriciating? Or just a bad economy?

I recently did a search of 350Z's for under $15000and I got about 100 listing ( nationwide) of 350Z's that were around $13000. They all look 100% legit...

Have I just not been looking at the ads for a while or has the price fallen dramatically?

If this is the case, I may wait a little more and scrap my plans for a 240SX and get a used Z.

Prices have dropped pretty quickly. I check on craigslist almost every night and since about 3 months ago its just been getting worst and worst. If you look on craigslist you can often find really good deals. In my area there is a 2006 touring with 25k miles for under 17k. I wish I had waited a couple months to buy my Z...

Yeah it's insane. A few months ago I would have gotten about 50 results with the same search now I'm getting 250.

Um yea that sounds like a good idea. You wont need to swap a thing

Also not only is it depriciation and a bad economy, the production numbers of the 350z dont help either.

the economy might play a small part but bottom line the 350z's are now over 5 years old, many have over 100k miles

cars depresicate thats what they do, and the new 370z means that the 350z is no longer a current production model so that drives price down further

same thing happened to C5 convettes when the C6 came out, a C5 can now be had for just a couple grand mroe than a 350Z, they tend to have lower miles and qualify for collector car insureance (I don't get what the Z doesn't) and the vette at the time cost 10K more then the Z

Yeah they are definitely depreciating. I bought mine for about $18k and within 2-3 months it was only worth $14k. Definitely ruined my day lol.

Dude I bought my 2003 touring Z last year for 18k with 52k mles and i totally regret every second of it. Some guy was selling a 2005 Z 6 speed with some tasteful mods with only 34k miles for 14k. The color I actually wanted too which is white. I always wished I could rewind the past.

18.5 does sound kinda low, but what exactly did you expect richie? first 5 years of a cars life are usually the worst depreciation, then it tends to plane out some for awhile... i dont think ill ever buy a car brand new myself... let some other sucker pay 1/3 of the sticker just to drive it off the lot

Funny, i just recently did a search for S2K's in my state and found one for almost $9k and talked the guy down to $8k via e-mail - probably could get it for less if i had cash and really pursued the buy. Car only has 65k on it - 2000 stook with body kit.... If i get things managed out better in my financial department and better job security (waiting on the big 3 to be safe from fail) then i may buy another s2000.

I'm surprised he would let it go down over E-MAIL>

I thought about it the other day and a used 350Z with less than 70,000 miles goes for $13000 ( on autotrader )

A used FD3s RX-7 with over 100,000 with a rebuilt engine sells for at least if not more than $13000.
