Just wondering if there's any mechanics in my area that is an alternative to the dealerships for less complicated issues? Also , is there an alternative for acquiring dealer parts so I can keep my appendages? Thanks

Depends on what it is, but I have not found anyone besides the dealer competent to work on the engine and they are just marginal. At least they usually give me a loaner. Several sponsors on this site give substantial discounts via mail and no sales tax so figure on saving about 30% on average.
