Urgh.Ya know what I hate? Trucks with brush guards. I parked in a really tight spot on a really steep hill on sat. night, and when I left the 240 drifted back a bit and kissed the truck behind me. F u c k ing brush guard left a nice sized crease/dent in the metal piece below the back up lights. It looks like the piece is just a bolt on, or does it have to be welded? (my FSM is at home). Anybody have one in silver avalible?I could pull/fill/paint, but that just seems like such a pain, if I could find a used one it'd probably be cheaper.Any idea of a price.Booo Brushguards.Gonna key the fu*k outta that truck!

Hmmmm.

Um, Radian? Your car rolled into the truck? Soooooo... Well, no offense, but it sounds like the "brush guard" did its job.

Don't key the truck. Please?

think of it this way: if the brush guard wasnt there, there would be 6" more "drifting" room, which means, as your car was "drifting" it would pick up more speed, therefore leaving more damage to YOUR drifting car.

HeySo you guys know he parked me in real tight, not leaving enough room for the car to drift back before the clutch engages. I heal toe, but a little bit of rear ward drift (when you are on a really steep hill-I live in SF afterall) is unavoidable. It dosn't have anything to do with my breaks, but with people not considering the fact that others drive manual transmissions. I see it on occasion at stop lights on steep hills too. Someone pulls way to close behind a person w/ a manual. When the light changes the manual drifts back and hits the car behind him. Is it the manual cars fault? I don't think so.I just don't like Trucks or SUVs. People buy them so they can be safe at the expense of other people's lives. If you are driving an 8,000 pound suburban and crash with a 2,000 lb metro, the guy in the metro is going to be seriously injured, if not killd, while the suburbanite will be fine. If the cars were more evenly matched, both could walk away with minor injuries-get what I'm saying? I don't have a solution or anything, but outlawing brush guards would be a good place to start. If that wouldn't have been there the bumpers would have absorbed the shock no problem, but since it was a jacked up truck, the pointy metal brush guard dented my ****.rant off

Not flaming here.

Do you have a functional e-brake? There's NO excuse for a car moving when unoccupied, I don't care WHERE you park it. God forbid a child had been between the car and the truck... And if a driver of a manual trans car can't leave a stoplight on a steep hill WITHOUT rolling backwards ONE INCH, he or she needs to learn. No excuse. None. It's NOT unavoidable. No way, no how.

Your motorcycle has a manual transmission and you probably ride quite well, without rolling backwards.

If you roll back into a car behind you while driving, it's called failure to control your vehicle, and you WILL be cited. Simple as that.

The big SUV rant is tired and lame. "People buy them so they can be safe at the expense of others?" Damn right. Same reason for owning a gun. Blame drivers, not the vehicle.

My 3 kids ride around in a 8,000 pound VAULT. With 35" tires. And a big a$$ brush guard. Don't hit my truck and you won't get dents. :D
