(Sorry for the site selection but it won't let me post in "general") Have any of you had any dentless repairs done to your cars? After eight years on the road and despite my efforts to park far away from SUV's, trucks and GM boats, I have a few bothersome door dings. My paint is in great shape, but I want to have these dings taken out. I understand that with suction cups and thin instuments, a qualified body shop can get most of these dings out. Any thoughts of experiences?? Thanks !!

I've had very good luck with paintless dent repair. The one's I've used come to your home or work and enjoy having you watch while they do it. It's a little scary to watch, as they pucker it out quite a bit before it pops back and looks perfect. It's usually not a body shop, but a franchise outfit, kind of like windshield repair. They can't fix a dent that's on a seam or a sharp crease, like around the tire on a Q. Most of them can tell if they'll be able to make it perfect and offer not to charge if you can still see the dent after they're done. Price is usually about $100 for the first dent and negotiable for the rest of the dents after that.

Had a car at a dealer that they dropped a box on the roof. 1k miles so I was pissed because I didn't want the car painted.

I was amazed at the repair a skilled paintless dent repair tech could do. Cannot even tell it was these with no defects in the paint.

I think you should find a reputable tech and ask for references. From what I experienced, they have no problem giving them if they are good.

Good luck!
