Anyone have a pic of the s13 firewall where they dented it in for clearance for the starter and/or bellhousing to clear? im using mckinney mounts

just dont want to have to test fit the motor to see where to dent it in. would rather have it done before i wiggle the motor in an already tight fit

I have some pics of what was done using their kit in a magazine from awhile back when doing a swap. I'll try to scan later on.

Just start beating the crap out of the wall. If your motor is out and waiting to go in it should be fairly obvious where the starter will be located in the bay.

When we put my motor in we didn't dent it enough and it wouldn't sit on the mounts so we had to pull it and bang it over again, make sure you get it deep enough =)

that is what he trying to prevent. Having to remove the motor to dent again. Plus, not having to dent too much and making it look like hell.

Same concept as cutting holes for your front mount pipping. Don't want huge holes everywhere, rather than a nice factory looking hole cut exactly where you needed it.

Anyways, measure twice, sledge it once.

I'll get that artical online.

+1, dont go nuts but you have to dent it a good bit, the part you dent is in the most unaccessible area of the car possible, who gives a **** how far its dented in, just take your time and dont break your heater core.

If you followed the wiring guide on this forum like me you probably removed your heater core anyway, so beat it like you caught it breaking into you house!

=)
