I've heard dry ice can pull small dents w/out a crease. I've only heard rumors from classic cars guys, so I can't guarentee that itll work.

the cold shrinks the metal and paint back into place??? that'd be my best guess but i have no idea...i heard that the dent removal tool that you can buy for 20 bucks is a piece of crap. i urge you to speak to a body shop, they can probably tell you more than we can...good luck!!! i also have my fair share of dents and dings...so i'm interested too.

oh man, there is a huge thread somewhere on this board about dry ice. anyway, there just small dings from 12 years of daily service. old poeple swinging there doors, shopping carts, who knows what else. there is a technique, i saw before and after of my friends car. took out some small dents. i think i caught a glipse of him using a small plastic hammer hitting another small plastic tool on the out side of the car. I dont really want to ask a body shop how to do it, cause i wouldnt want someone off the street asking me how to say, diagnose a dim headlight etc. i think i need to make some new friends in the body shop.

Dude - Here's the deal.

This is NOT a project for an amateur.

Go to a deaership, preferably a high-end one like Infiniti. Ask for the number for their dent removal guy. Usually it's an independent contractor who travels from lot to lot fixing dings.

They have a set of specialized tools (no, your ball peen hammer and plastic spoon WON'T work).

Hang out watching the guy. Stay outta the way. Admire the results. Comment on how impressive the handiwork is. Ask if they do side work.

I got ALL the tiny dings taken out of my car for $200, and there were probably 10 or so.... Some I didn't even know about.

go into the bathroom and get the plunger... thats worked for me a couple of times, or if you can, get behind the metal and bang it out with your fist.

yeah, those guys tend to work magic.

if you wanna be cheap, the ding king is supposed to be pretty good actually.

Skwerel's dad, who does everything himself when restoring cars (I've seen the gradual process on the cars, like 3 of them now that I can remember), is apparently very protective of his ding king.

if you have the money, I'd just go to one of the above mentioned specialists though.

If the dings are in your fenders, take them off and lay the fender upside down on a rug or smooth protected surface, use a rubber mallet and work the dings slowly and carefully, very carefully. Check the other side and go back and forth taking your time, dont rush it, YOu will be surprised by the results, mine look so good that I wasnt able to find the original damaged spot. If you prefer find an old fender and practice until you get the technique and timing right. Oh, be aware that this will work and look really good if the dings are minor and the paint finish still in good condition.:thinker

[/quote] Belive it or not the ding king actually does work. I've used it on a few smallish dents and it was ok. The qualifier is that I was re-painting so I only used it for dent gross dent removal, and finished up with some glaze.I used epoxy instead of the sh*tty glue they give you too. I couldn't get that stuff to hold.
