I now have a JDM Denon DCT-1 installed in my Altima. I put it in 2 nights ago. It is the sweetest head unit ever. I am going to try and get a pic. More to come.

Here is a link to the cd player...

By the way... it costs $2000.00 and I have 1 of 4 in the United States.

Nice HU, does it have a hide away adapter that mounts near the amps for full use of the balanced line input voltage of 8V? Do you have an amp that accepts balanced line inputs. You'll be sure to score some points at IASCA with a Dynamic Range of 110db, and a Signal to Noise of 115 db. Wow, that got some awesome potential, because it also has one analog input right?

The controls look like LHD, aren't JDM volume knobs usually on the right?

i dunno. i know that all of the denon models have the knob on the left and since they dont sell any of the Denons in the US anyways I have no logical answer for ya about the whole knob thing. for some reason the tuner requires no modification to work in the US. I am not really worried about the cd player getting stolen because very very few people have any clue as to what it is and it also does not have any flashy displays, play mp3s or even utilize XM/sirius. It does sound incredible though. The D/A converter makes even the lowest bitrate cdr sound good.

hehe you know i was jokin with that last post right simm? well anyways, that's a killer deck, local shop has the same one. they got it hooked up to an audiocontrol dqx and of course a audison/focal combo. sounds unreal, it's like their holly grail or something. price tag of $2499 cdn it better be good. looks the exact same as your deck but must not be if yours is one of four in the states...

now you going with the altima or the civic? i'm confused

ya duuude... i'm back! fresh from ITALY, 7 weeks of it!! damn their stereo shops suck... i was expecting audison & dynaudio all over the place, but couldn't find any of that stuff. found a killer strip joint in milan though, oh man, unbelievable......

what was i talking about? oh ya, scooters rule the streets in italy, and no one really fixes up cars, they just buy HATCHBACK audi A3's or bmw 760's and drive them stock. they got all these smart cars too which are designed by mercedes... take a pontiac firefly and chop the entire front half of the car off from the hood forward and that's how big one of these smart cars are...man i would love to get a hold of one of those and put a 18" focal in there! but ya it's nice to be back, i missed my tunes, i been goin apeshiit on my box...

haha no it's not cold here, a solid 28 celcius, think that's like 90F. ya i missed your questions, happy to hear em again... entertaining reading what florida240 has to say

Well... this is what I know, it kicks a$$ and it is the best unit that I have ever heard in a car. It does not get any better but that was the point of getting this head unit... because it is the best. Right now I have the civic at home and it is on jack stands while I wait to see if my Altima is going to be bought. I was originally going to sell the Altima at the beginning of the summer so that I would have the money to buy the B16 swap and all the bolt on goodies. In the beginning of the summer I had time (the whole summer) to work on the civic. Now that I have less than 4 weeks left of summer, I do not have any time to work on the civic. SO I am still driving the Altima and I have been repairing little things as I go along. I had an exhaust leak in the flex pipe so I bought an OBX header/midpipe on ebay. I had an oil leak at my crankshaft pully, so I spent 5 bucks on one at autozone and fixed it. I needed new axles because the boots were shot, so I spent 120 on 2 new axles at autozone. I needed new swaybar end link bushings, so I bought the Energy Suspension ones for 10 bucks NORMAL STOCK at autozone (they work AWESOME). So now I just have to get the Energy Suspension bushings for the control arms (the Maxima and Altima control arms have the same bushings) so that my car can actually make quick turns. Right now it handles nice on the highway... but the bushings on the right side control arm NO LONGER EXIST on the car. :o:o yeah. so I'm gonna drive the Altima till I decide that I have time to work on the civic. booyahhh

I would hope that it sounds damn good.

Atleast that way I dont feel bad about it looking like an old home receiver from 1989.

brushed aluminum dials are sickkkkkkkkk.

Did you change the color of the face to match your dash? Or was it just another optional color? From that link it looks champagne aluminum, but yours looks gunmetal-ish. Does it still have the neon green backlights?

And about it not flashy enough to attract car thieves? I dunno, man, instead of 'plain', my first impression was 'exotic'. Since it doesnt look like a detachable face, I'd suggest getting a very dark tint job to cover it up.

I took an old computer case made of steel, cut it from a pattern that I made, and then used a dremel to custom cut that metal piece myself. I then went and got the (can I mention that I love dremels) special metal buffer bit for the dremel and made the steel piece have that brushed look. I hand fit it and used a metal file to shape it down perfectly. The little display under the deck is my Alpine Security System status display. It keeps a record of when my security system goes off, what sensor was tripped, if there are any faulty sensors, real time battery voltage, time, date, and does security programming. It took about 2 weeks of on and off machining to get that thing to fit and look right. But it was worth it.
