Which people, really? Their koolaid swilling wonks will point to the GOP and claim they are for the big money fat cats and they are, the Republicans don't give a s*** about regular people. Here's the fun part, though, neither do the Democrats.

Sure, they say they are for workers, but in the same motion they sign unfavorable trade deals that kill blue collar jobs as they go overseas and they shield illegal aliens YES, Mother$%#@er. ILLEGAL ALIENS, they are'nt "undocumented workers" they are criminals pushing Americans and legal immigrants out of what work is left.

They claim they are for public safety, but when gun violence erupts, do they support law enforcement and go after the real criminals? Nope, they target law-abiding gun owners. Look at Chicago. The hardest gun laws in the country and the murder capitol. What's up with that? Seems counter intutive if you listen to the Democrat talking points. Maybe Rahm can explain.

They claim to be for people of color, but it's all noise. What have they ever done for people of color? The inner cities are still s*** and the Democrats only come calling around election time. At least the Religous right that the GOP panders too gets legit representation of their whacked out view points. At least when the NRA gives money to the Republicans they know they will fight for the issue. That's customer service, folks!

So, the GOP cares about money and the Democrats are all benevolent and &^%$, really? OK, Shrillary, explain yourself.

http://www.nydailynews.com/news/politic ... -1.2644307

Suddenly, it seems like the Democrats are not being honest. Well, not suddenly to anyone with, you know, eyes, a brain, and a modicum of common sense. The GOP is scummy and all, but they are honest about who they serve. The Democrats, on the other hand, say one thing and do another. I won't be supporting the GOP any time soon. We will see what shakes out after this debacle, maybe we get a third option out of it, but the Democrats? I'm with Malcolm on this one.

Hillary, bought and paid for.

http://nypost.com/2016/05/22/how-corpor ... n-for-21m/
Mandatory financial disclosures released this month show that, in just the two years from April 2013 to March 2015, the former first lady, senator and secretary of state collected $21,667,000 in “speaking fees,” not to mention the cool $5 mil she corralled as an advance for her 2014 flop book, “Hard Choices.”

Throw in the additional $26,630,000 her ex-president husband hoovered up in personal-appearance “honoraria,” and the nation can breathe a collective sigh of relief that the former first couple — who, according to Hillary, were “dead broke” when they left the White House in 2001 with some of the furniture in tow — can finally make ends meet.

That she got paid for doing a job (deliver a speech to an audience)does not support your assertion that what she will do as President is bought and paid for by Wall Street. A lot of people work for manufacturers, wholesalers and retailers that sell tobacco and liquor products but don't smoke or drink. They go where people will pay them in order to get a paycheck.

Wall Street pays high profile speakers a lot more than colleges do. Why shouldn't she take Wall Street's money for giving speeches?

Yup, party of the people, uh huh.
1. If you were offered that kinda money to give speeches, are you suggesting you'd say no?
2. Sadly, these amounts are actually pretty small since the flood gates opened up after the Supreme Court's misguided decision about Citizens United. Both parties are getting hundreds of millions. The Koch brothers have probably donated more (reported and unreported) by themselves than most the above combined.
3. It has been rumored that one of the reasons Trump has not released his tax records (besides grossly overstating his wealth), is that he has some massive loans to Russian friends of Vladimir Putin. If that turns out to be true, which would be worse?

 Google the term bribery. MONEY QUOTE: "The White House is like a subway: You have to put in coins to open the gates"—Johnny Chung, a Taiwanese-born businessman and major Democratic donor in the 1990s.

By speaking to banks like Goldman Sachs, Bernie Sanders said she was compromised. Where did Bill, Hillary, and Chelsea Clinton speak? How did they decide how much to charge? What did they say? How did they decide which speeches would be given on behalf of the Clinton Foundation, with fees going to the charity, and which would be treated as personal income? Are there cases of conflicts of interest or quid pro quos—for example, speaking gigs for Bill Clinton on behalf of clients who had business before the State Department?
But watchdogs and reformers are up in arms after the New York Times revealed that supporters who raise or donate $500,000 or more will score invites to quarterly meetings with Obama and other exclusive perks unavailable to run-of-the-mill Obama supporters. "Access to the president should never be for sale," said Common Cause president Bob Edgar.

White House Press Secretary Jay Carney denied there was a price tag to meet Obama, but he didn't dispute the story detailing OFA's $500,000 pitch.

So you're back to assertions. More solid information is needed before it becomes a fact that she has been compromised and bribed. And yes, that's one of the reasons I don't trust her; she's not forthcoming with clear information. I see a lot of that as a result of her training as a lawyer and professional politician. She avoids clear truth at all times.

At the same time, I trust her to keep this country safer than Trump. He's simply a loose cannon that is clueless about world diplomacy and how republics work. He wants to govern as a third world dictator would.

BTW, after I thought about it a little more I thought a better comparison than the tobacco/candy example I used would be bands performing at high school dances. I went to a religious high school and was on the entertainment committee for a few of them. We would go to a listing of the bands available and prices. The more prestigious the band, the higher the price. We looked at our budget and hired what we perceived as the highest profile band we could afford that we thought the audience would appreciate hearing. The band came and performed; we paid them and everyone moved on. In no way, shape or form did that mean that we had converted the band to our religion or they even supported our religion. It was simply a paid performance gig for them.

The same applies to public speakers.

Interesting analogy using bands and high schools, but I don't think one can make that comparison. The band example is indeed a simple transaction, but the paid speeches by politicians carry an additional factor, the possibility of quid pro quo. That band was uninterested in getting anything from the school except a paycheck. Goldman Sachs, for example, might be very interested in how a politician speaker might vote on an upcoming bill that might impact their business.

srellim234 I can't tell if your being intentionally thick or if it's a god-given-gift.
Topping Hillary’s list is the Saban Capital Group. The “private investment firm,” (read: hedge fund) has given the Clinton campaign more than $10 million this year alone. Founded by Hami Saban, an Jewish Egyptian national, he has said his greatest concern is to protect Israel. He is also part owner of Univision, Hillary Clinton’s greatest Spanish-language cheerleader. Here’s how the New Yorker described his relationship with the Clintons:

"By far his most important relationship is with Bill and Hillary Clinton. In 2002, Saban donated five million dollars to Bill Clinton’s Presidential library, and he has given more than five million dollars to the Clinton Foundation. In February, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton delivered a major policy address at the U.S.-Islamic World Forum in Doha, co-sponsored by the Saban Center. And last November Bill Clinton was a featured speaker at the Saban Forum, an annual conference attended by many high-level Israeli and U.S. government officials, which was held in Jerusalem. Ynon Kreiz, an Israeli who was the chairman and chief executive of a Saban company and Saban’s closest associate for many years, attended the conference, and when I commented that his former boss appeared to be positively smitten with Bill Clinton, Kreiz replied, grinning broadly, “No! No! I remember once Haim was talking to me on the phone, and he said in Hebrew, without changing his tone so Clinton would have no idea he was speaking about him, ‘The President of the United States, wearing his boxers, is coming down the stairs, and I am going to have to stop talking and go have breakfast with him.’”

A close second on the list is Renaissance Technologies, another hedge fund. They sunk $9.5 million into Hillary’s campaign this year. Founder James Simons has given more than $30 million to Democrats and their campaigns since 2006.

All told, Trump has received zero dollars from Political Action Committees and has self-funded 56 percent of his campaign.
Love him or hate him, he answers to nobody but himself and the American people.
Who does Hillary Clinton answer to? Wall Street, the unions and a bunch of elite rich snobs.

I'm not so thick as to vote for either one of them.

When you link to Newsmax you lose all credibility, the same as when telco links to Dailykos. I have a lot more respect for people on either side who link to sites with journalistic ethics, standards and practices.

Inside Donald Trump’s Meltdown

Every day Trump digs his hole deeper and provides additional proof to the American People of what a loser and unqualified presidential candidate he is.

He is going to be very embarrassed when he is crushed by Hillary in November

Many republicans are coming to the realization that The Democrats are truly the party of the people.

George W. Bush administration official announces support for Clinton over Trump

http://www.msn.com/en-us/news/politics/ ... ar-BBvnuFo

"Lezlee Westine, a former aide to President George W. Bush, will support Hillary Clinton for president.

Westine, who served as the Bush administration's White House Director of Public Liaison and deputy assistant to the president, is one of several Republican figures to publicly announce their support for Clinton in recent weeks."

"She joins a growing list of conservatives in the business, foreign policy and political spheres who have come out in support of Clinton.

On Sunday, the political director in the Reagan administration — Frank Lavin — wrote in a commentary for CNN that he could not support Republican nominee Donald Trump and would vote for Clinton instead.

"Trump falls short in terms of the character and behavior needed to perform as president," Lavin wrote. "This defect is crippling and ensures he would fail in office."

On Friday, Michael Morell, a former acting CIA director — who served in both Republican and Democratic administrations — wrote a scathing denunciation of Trump in his endorsement of Clinton.

And two top aides of former Republican presidential contenders also said they would support Clinton. Maria Comella, a former spokeswoman for New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie (who supports Trump) and Sally Bradshaw, a former adviser to Jeb Bush both said they would support Clinton.

Moderate Republican Rep. Richard Hanna of New York, also endorsed Clinton.

Westine, the former Bush administration official, is currently the president and CEO of the Personal Care Products Council and is the former president and CEO of TechNet, a political network of high tech CEOs."

Telco- Clinton is already a known entity. She is the one who is most likely to govern better than Trump and keep the gravy train going for the current political profiteers. Trump is a very dangerous entity who is also totally an unknown other than he wants to rule as a third world dictator (irrationally) and preserve the gravy train for himself at the expense of everyone else.

Repeatedly saying the only good thing about your candidate is that you can tear down the other guy more than someone else can tear down yours is poor when both are establishment candidates beholden to the two major parties for getting where they are. We will get worse government with one and continue getting bad government from the other.

Before anyone claims Trump is (and Bernie was) an outsider, bear in mind he made a conscious decision to sell out to become a Republican (and Bernie a Democrat) for the primaries. From the beginning I would have been more accepting of their candidacies if they had run as independents or third party candidates.

Neither Trump nor Clinton is worth voting for.
