Totally agree. I remember how big of a deal that cross-hair map was in the media.

In terms of mass murders (like Columbine), the worst thing that the 24-hour news networks can do is focus coverage heavily upon the event. It's almost guaranteed that another massacre (or multiple massacres) will be at least attempted in the coming weeks.

The media had the Sarah PAC map plastered on the screen for long enough for people to get the message (to kill the people on the list)... Wonderful. Cross-hairs were used for a reason on that piece of propaganda. It's clear enough for a child to understand.

That said, there's no evidence yet that the map influenced the shooter. However, I wouldn't be surprised if it did.

She may or may not be relevant to this case. It's just as rash to jump to the conclusion that her cross-hair propaganda could have had zero affect whatsoever on the incident.

The logic in saying that both parties participate in violence-inducing rhetoric therefore we shouldn't even discuss a recent piece of propaganda, is shaky at best in my opinion.
