I just got my motor in and everything is hooked but it wont rev over 2500 RPM's now I know this is an indiction that the computer is not reading the MAF but I can read voltage coming from the MAF. Also the rpm's jump they will not stay steady. It settles around 1500 to 2000 RPM's. I have deleted all emissions equipment since in Florida we do not have emissions and I turbo charged it. Does anybody have any suggestions as to why it is jumping around and will not rev over 2500 rpms?

Ok Sorry It was after the super bowl that I posted I had a few, I was not thinking straight.

My Setup is this:

1991 240SX KA24DET

Garrett T04B-R TurboRevhard ManifoldCobra MAFStock ECU7:1 Rising rate fuel pressure regulatorSplit Second Air/Fuel Ratio Modifier Bored Throttle BodyBored Intake ManifoldPorted and Polished headGude reground camsDual valve springs with titanium retainersPauter RodsWiseco pistons 9:1 CompressionSwaped out my automatic for a manual transmission

My problem is that when i start the car it will not rev over 2500 rpms. I know this is an indication that the ECU is not reading the maf? I have checked this and I am getting a signal out of the maf. Also I have checked for any vaccuum leaks and there are none. I have checked the TPS and that is reading properly. I am running out of ideas of what could be causing this. Has anyone had a similar problem and how did you solve it? Thanks for the help.

Maybe your Ecm needs to be changed or calibrated to learn or adjust to the new set up because the orginal engine didn't have a turbo or lower compression .

I think that maybe the connector to the MAF is messed up.. This is a common problem on the Q45s and it would certainly make sense in this..

The MAF is reading but its not sending the signal to the ECU

Usually you can clean the connector out (take it off and gently clean), and if that doesnt work you could get a new connector...

if your split second air/fuel comp is anything like the apexi safc it cant tune the cobra maf. u need to get ur ecu retuned for the cobra maf or get a 300zx maf.

btw its great to see u posting. i always wondered where u went. i read your posts so many times before i ordered my nsport kit

Hey thanks for the tips but I figured it out. What it was that I had the wrong schematic for my Split Second computer. I hooked up a wire that was not supposed to be hooked up and it was creating a feed back loop which was throwing my maf reading off. I cut the wire and every thing works fine now. The car is a beast. Once I get the motor broken in and everything fine tuned I am hoping to run in the 11's soon. So watch out.
