Don't know if anyone experiences this but my M45 seems to have a very long pause/delay when giving throttle inputs. It acts fine when pulling away from a stop by when you want to lightly accelerate from a slowing moving speed it just doesn't feel right. It kinda throw you back in your seat at the wrong time and its frustrating.

Were your previous car a manual shift? I had the same feeling (with any automatic). Acutually, the M45's response is very good compare to other automatic, just need some get use to...

No, I've never had a manual car before. You know how when you drive the car in manual mode theres that 1 to 2 second delay before and actual gear change. Well in my case theres like a 1 to 2 second delay before the engine actually revs after the pedal has been pressed.

Hmmmm.. That sounds strange. Does that only happen when you depress the gas padel hard? Since the car's ECU might be calculating what gear to go into and since M45 does the rev match, it is also calculating what RPM should be when after the downshift.

Since I owned both Automatic and Manual cars, I can always feel the delay in shifting, so I already take it as granted (bad for automatic).

My recommendation would be: Go to an Infiniti dealer and test drive another M45 and see if it performs the same way. If it is not, then, it's time for a trip to the dealer.

No, I dont press the gas pedal gas at all. You know how when approaching a stop sign you slowly creep up to it at about maybe 2 to 5mph and not coming to a full stop then accelerating away? I would give it like 5% throttle to get the car moving but theres this delay where you kinda slightly lean forward cause you know the car will throw you back a little but it's just weird. Can't really explain it.

do the Accelerator pedal closed position learning sequence. I kinda had the same thing going on with my car - not as bad as you describe it, but it went away after I did it.

1. Make sure that accelerator pedal is fully released. 2. Turn ignition switch ON and wait at least 2 seconds. 3. Turn ignition switch OFF and wait at least 10 seconds. 4. Turn ignition switch ON and wait at least 2 seconds. 5. Turn ignition switch OFF and wait at least 10 seconds.

Thank SteveTheTech for this one

This happens to my M45 as well. I wish I can afford a GTR R35.

Yeah, it worked for a day but then that delayed repondes kicked in again. Seems like theres a lag between the engine to transmission to the diff.

Do you drive the car very easy most of the time? It is suppose to learn from your driving style. If you take it very easy most of the time, when you punch it, it will take a while to down shift or get throttle responses.

I do drive my car easy 85% of the time and there are times where I would floor it and redline it a couple of times. It's just low speed driving is frustrating from the delay and throwing you back in your seat when least expected.

See, that might be the cause. The M will learn your driving style and adjust accordingly, which is a good thing if you drive consistently. But, when you need the quick response, it (the on board computer) will need to think for a second before it down shift.

On LEXUS GS, they have the power mode and ECO mode that you can choose. But, still, if you punch it in ECO mode, it will have a delayed throttle response - might be even worse than our M.

I guess it does make a little sense since the M's transmission does learn your driving habits. But I still think its something else.

Today when I tired to cut some guy off I went to floor it and a second later the light turned red. As I floored it transmission downshifted and engine rpm went to like 5000rpm but the car didnt really move as i let off the gas pedal. Almost seems like the transmission is like slipping. Very weird
