Delayed Shifting

Discussion of Infiniti's amazing (and underrated) sport-luxury crossovers, the EX35 and EX37. For 2014, the EX series will be renamed QX50, in line with Ininfiit's new naming conventions.

I have a 2010 EX35 and when accelerating hard to pass a car the 6-speed auto trans seems to drop down to 4th and then lag for about 5 seconds ! Is this normal ?

Infiniti's owner's manual says to pass a car or go up a hill you have to floor it !!! Are you EX35 owners experiencing the same problem ?

It will downshift based on your input.

Part of the problem is you have a 6-speed transmission.
The rest of us 2010 owners only have the 5-speed model. :lolling:

John,
What do you mean by the rest of us 2010 owner's ? The 2010 EX35 or something else ?

I thought the 2010 EX35 had a 6- spd. auto. and the 2010 G37 a 7-spd. auto. ?

On Page 5-12, Starting & Driving section of the 2010 EX35 Owners Manual... it states that you have a 5 Speed.

With respect to your lag situation, do you gradually depress the Gas-pedal... or do you slap it when you want to give'r ?

I've never had that kind of lag when I punch my Gas-pedal.
