I've noticed that within the past few months, my car has begun to lose acceleration power. It's almost as if it still has "most" of its hp, but its delayed until several seconds after the pedal is put down hard. I've replaced the air filter and changed the oil - usually long before they're due to be changed, but still the car seems to strain when taking off.

I've searched the forum for explanations, but I can't seem to find anything to help me. If anyone has any thoughts or ideas, I'd greatly appreciate it.

Thanks!Zach

well you started with the most obvious stuff, how long has it been since you have

checked spark plug gapchanged spark plug wireschecked distributor cap/rotor either clean terminals or replace the set.checked your fuel filter and replaced it.tire pressure amount of gas in the fuel tank (the less fuel in the tank the less able the car is to put down the power as quickly as soon as you mash the pedal. it sounds dumb, but if your tank is around 1/4 then fill it up and see if you "feel" a difference. generally its subjective as to if it is true, but so many people comment on feeling the difference its worth a shot)

have you changed octane gas, or any major system components on the car. that would add excessive weight?

those are the easy to check easy to fix stuff. try those and see what you get.

Check the Cv Joints and see if torn

Turn steering wheel to right and drive slowcircles in parking lot and listen for knocks, clicks,

Upon takeoff on street driving might be clunksto hesitation to catch up with transmission
