Ok I've been a Delawarean pretty much all my life and every car I've had I've always wanted to modify just either never got the time or the spare money. I am breaking that come hell or high water with my 240 though I will make a much larger effort this time around. I have some questions for those of you who live in delaware with modified cars, particularly 240s. First off is exhaust, I have a 95 S14 and I plan to run an aftermarket exhaust, do you guys reinstall your stock exhaust when it comes time for inspection or do you keep the aftermarket one on? If you do keep the aftermarket one on what size exhaust do you have.
Secondly are you running an aftermarket HI-flo cat or no cat at all? I would love to run just a test pipe but I'm afraid of having to take it off every year to go to inspection.
Next I am looking to run a KA-T setup, is there any one in Delaware who runs a turbo'd KA? If so how much of a hassle do they give you when you go in for inspection?
My concern is this, I don't want to invest money into modifying my car just to put it back into stock trim every time I go in for inspection, it's a pain in the *** and a waste of time and with DE having the emission standards it has (though not as high as CA or NJ) they still are annoying. I may just say the hell with it and get my car tagged in PA since I live right on the border and spend more time in PA than I do in DE.
I just want to know how many modified 240s there in DE and how much of a hassle they give when you go in for inspection and if you have failed on something please let me know and what it was that you failed on.
