My defrost doesnt work in my car for some reason. All I can do with the air is turn it on and off and make it hot or cool(dont have a/c installed) I cant even it make if blow out underneath the dash. When I press the buttons to change where the air blows from they dont light up or anything, in my other 240 when I pressed one of the buttons it would turn green in the middle to show which one was being used.

Is there anyway I can fix it, its a pain in the *** trying to drive at night when its raining w/o defrost. Is it a wiring problem maybe or the air control box itself? Anybody have any idea?

did u 1st check for a blown fuse? i think it's the 10A one on the top left area in the fuse box... right below the 2 x 15A fuses for the blower motor...

in the meantime, u can use rainX antifog solution on the inside of your windshield/side windows...

You said you don't have an a/c? You can't defog a windshield without the dry air an a/c produces anyway... Probably it is intentionally preventing you from selecting defog since it knows it's a/c isn't functioning. That's just a guess though.

Seriously - the worst part about removing an a/c is not that you get hot in the summer, it's that you can't defog your glass in the winter.

Ditto on the anti-fog. It won't fend off the heavy fog, but it keeps the light stuff under control.

EDIT: I just re-read and saw that you can't switch the air vents at all. Nevermind about the intentionally disabled part. Still, you're going to find it difficult to defog without a/c.

I had the same problem with mine. It turned out that one of the plugs behind the controls was broke/loose. Got a unit from the junkyard and everything worked.
