I am not sure where this goes, so I apologize if I have posted it in the wrong forum.

Every time I use the defrost the AC comes on (hot, of course). I wonder if there is a reason Nissan would program this? This happens in my wife's Mazda CX-9 and a friend's Evo as well.

Can someone explain that?

The vehicle uses the a/c to remove the humidity from the air. Otherwise the fan would just blow moist air and keep the windows fogged up.

Up to around 10%. I usually leave the compressor off unless I'm having fogging issues.
