I've been look a lot at rims lately and was wondering exactly what color hyper black is. One of the rims is the Axis Matrix:

And judging by the example photos they have, it just looks silver.

Another manufacturer, TSW's Thruxton, looks more of a dark grey:

Is the definition of hyper black just going to vary between manufacturers?

HyperBlack finishes range from silver to charcoal or gunmetal grey. I've never seen a Hyper Black finish that appeared to be black. My wheels by the way are Hyperblack.

Someone just put the Thruxtons on an AC here recently.

My rims areTSW Catalunya - I would say these are on the darker side of the grey spectrum. My car is a champaigne color with a silver irredescence - so these wheels (and I would say hyperblack in general) complement or subtley contrast real nice like!

I looked at the Axis Penta as well in hyperblack - Axis hyperblack seemed a little lighter than TSW's. What color are you looking for - more silver or more grey/gunmetal/charcoal. So I agree the finish will vary from company to company. The good thing is that it is hard to mess up a grey or silver finish/color on a wheel.

If you are particular try to see if you can spot any differences between companies - expecially if you have a local rim shop.
