Got my 240 back today. After several months of delays. Anyway, Shop informs me there is a small boost leak. The tried and true brake cleaner test reveals the leak is in the area of the IC. (Stock SMIC).

Get it home, and pull the SMIC, the leak revealed itself as being on the seal between the 'hot' pipe and the IC itself. It was extreamly easy to spot due to a copious amount of thick used black oil (or what appeared to be). However, the engine oil is extreamly clean, maybe 100miles on it.

Where might this 'oil' be comming from? If it was a bad turbo journal seal wouldnt it be the same color oil as that from the motor?

Thanks for the help.

Didnt mention, the exhaust doesnt seem to be smoking, but then, it is very cold here and smoke would be hard to spot.

COULD IT BE OLD OIL FROM THE TURBO OR ENGINE THAT HAS PENETRATED THROUGH THE SEAL NOW THAT FRESH OIL IS PUSHING IT OUT OR SOMETHING

Do you have the crankcase vents hooked up to the intake?? If so, alot of oil mist ends up all through the intake tract. It also lowers your octane rating if you ingest oil. Thats why alot people use somthing similer to the GREDDY catch can.

Yes I do have those lines hookedup WD, read my post "Greddy Oil Catch Can" Maybe you can answer the last quesion on that post.

After removing and thoroughly cleaning the IC, the oil seems to be a buildup of old oil from whatever motor the IC was on before.

You seem to be having a bit of problems with your swap....Might i ask if you researched the people that are doing your swap? or was it there first? What kind of reputation did they have working on SR20det motors?

Understatement of the Year. Actually, this was the 8th or 9th swap the shop had done, but the first DOHC to SR swap. They came highly recommended from the people I spoke with. They are some of the biggest honda-swappers around. And the only SR swappers within 100 miles.

I like that this thread has gotten so much attention, and my embarssment has become so public. At least let this be a warning for anyone not doing the swap themselves. They dont call it a project for nothing.

That should be on every SR website in bold red lettering.
