I am writing this for my parents 2003 Nissan Maxima. I have used boards like this before and found them very useful in diagnosing a problem, finding others with the same problem, and usually finding why the dealers/manufacturers won't fix it!

The problem is only the drivers side front window. When you roll it down, you sometimes get one of 2 problems:1. It rolls all the way up and then immediately drops about 2 inches down. The dealer has said this is a computer problem and the fix it. This has been done by dealer atleast 4 times.

2. When the window is put all the way down, sometimes it doesn't go up at all. The dealer has said this is a motor problem and has replaced the motor (as of today) 4 times.

LUCKILY, the car is on warranty still so it doesn't cost anything. BAD NEWS, the warranty is up in October.

I want to see if there is a larger problem that the local Nissan dealer is ignoring or some other defect that can be fixed correctly before the warranty is up.

Other than this it is a great car!!

Thank you for your [email protected]

my 92 maxima had similar problems with drivers window.

after stuffing around like what nissan are doing a small auto electrician place said it was the switch, and that it had burnt out. mine had melted the circuit right near the drivers control. that may be your problem?

DEMAND that they install all new window controls on the driver door, and recheck all the fuses for the window/door controls in the fuse box under the hood and dash.

if they "fixed" the computer problem...and they "fixed" the window motor problem...then all that's left is the door switches.
