im trying to replace the speakers in the doors and rear with some alpine 6.5s and was wondering if there was a restriction in how deep the speakers could go or any thing that could get in the way at all

I put alpine R-type composites in the rear and components in the front of my 95 SE... there is LOADS of space in the S14 for speakers...

I used the included thin spacer in the rear just because the trunk spring bar was right up near the speaker and I didn't want to give a chance to rattle against it...

I don't remember if I used spacers in the front or not but I got them to fit without modifying anything...

My fronts haven't been fully installed yet, I just did a testfit bolting them up... since they're components and I want to mount the tweaters in the pillars I'm probably going to pull the dash to mount the X-overs under there.

If you're installing components and the Tweeters are not in the doors then be warned that the speaker wiring under the dash is nearly impossible to get to without pulling the dash.

i most likely will just get the composites in the door too. i am not that much of an audio-phile anymore i just want a nice speaker to replace the trashed OEM ones. in my old truck i had 6.5 type-S all around and loved them so i will prob get them again.

thanks for the reply though
