i going to go to a muffler shop TO custom make my exhaust system, because it's cheap

My Main goal is to make it sound very deep so it can purr like a cat and i don't want it to sound like a rice rocket.

I also don't want any low end toqure to be lost. so im going with 2.5 tubing.

Thinking of getting one of the n1 megan muffler off of ebay or a magnaflow at the shop.

Any recommendation/comments/suggestions???

and for the ones that yield great deep tone result want did you get??

i have a n1 style ebay muffler on stock piping (to be replaced eventually) and it's no where near the bumblebee range of tone.could be deeper but it's nice.

header will also drop the tone a bit

i have an apexi n1 dual exhaust for sale. this exhaust gives you the most low-mid range torque out of any ive dealt with. the two pipes are specifically designed to give you more low-mid range power. it sounds very nice and deep, not ricey at all. the link is below.

i'm fairly new to all this exhaust piping detail...

so the larger the piping the more low end?

exactly the oppositebig piping allows more air, so at higher engine speeds the air is less restricted.but at low engine speeds, the engine doesn't push enough air to take advantage of the big piping and it can actually decrease performace due to not scavenging properly. search here or on google or someplace for how exhaust works, specifically: scavenging, velocity, and backpressure

I have a full 3" system with a MagnaFlow straight flow thru race muffler, no cat, no resonator. It's a deep tone and sounds awesome over 3k rpm. From 2k to 2500 rpm it has a loud drone to it. My solution, drive at 3k rpm minimum all the time. :p

I have the Borla catback resonator and muffler - sounds nice and deep, and looks close to stock (no fartcan) - however it may be hard to find now. I think only Nissan Motorsports offers it for sale.

Apexi Gt Spec:) i feel like a unofficial spokesman for apexi everytime time i talk about it. but i love it death still have stock headers and cat (broke) at idle deep low rumble not to loud but under acceleration exspecially 2500-4000rpm it gets very loud and i mean loud about 550 shipped from enjuku if your trying to sneak around town at night forget it or put the silencer in can somtimes be annoying at night downshifting at a stop sign/light (i'm paranoid of cops and being pulled over). Turns alot of heads and get alot of compliments on that phat muff yo! (phat muff..... lol)

My stock muffler fell off...so i got a custom 3" to a magnaflow straight through. its got a KA24E, stock header and cat, no resonator. With a cone filter and the exhaust my car sounds freakin scary, it sounds like a huge 4 cyl. Too bad its not fast enough to back it up yet. Yet if im just idling or cruising with a little throttle it sounds very quiet. At the price of 220 bucks installed its a great exhaust.

Oh and its a 3" tip, oval canister, not chrome or stainless, and almost looks stock. I love the look of it. Knowing a good custom exhaust guy is great. If i had a camera i'd get pics of it up.
