by description it leans toward rod knock, but it would be more of a low frequency ratle on light throttle or on decel from low rpm. try bringing the car to a steady throttle around 1000 to 1100 rpm and listen for the noise, this is done while not driveing. If you get a steady low frequency rattle noise it could be crank or rod bearings, you need to be able to determine for sure though if its coming from top end or bottom end. If you determine its bottom end thats likely what it is. you can isolate which [crank or rod bearing] by pinching of the PCV fresh air inlet off the valve cover. If after a few seconds of pinching off the hose the noise goes away its a rod bearing.
