That manifold. I want it!

In all honesty it doesn't look that complex... I wonder how hard it would be for me to create with my limited welding skillz... I'm sure it can't be THAT MUCH harder than doing IC piping from straight pipe...

Maz, I'm going to be in my garage making a turbo back downpipe (one piece o2, dp, test pipe) mid-March, we could just make it a party. I'm not going to be using anything awesome, just an Arc welder.

Sounds like my equipment... All I have is a 300$ Lincoln flux core arc welder :P, so it's all good!

invite brad and his inhuman book-o-numbers and it'd be a real party

Brad has an inhuman book-o-numbers?

Good to know someone else with a welder, just in case something horrible happens the one I am going to be borrowing from this guy. I really would like a MIG setup, but the people I know with them probably won't be enthusiastic about me borrowing them.

Don't go there, Tim or it's all out war .Gabby:That intake manifold was made in 2003 by a friend who's actually very good at welding, but he wasn't tig welding back then, hence the not so perfect welds. But that thing cost me some money and I'm going to get my $$$$s worth.

Maz:That manifold and turbo are sold to another member and pulsar owner on this forum. But that manifold can be simply made with your $300 lincoln welder. I have a $700 hobart unit now, but I started-out with a craftsman welder that I bought on ebay for $125 and I've learned (not mastered) some of the sciences in welding. So you can do it if you try.

I didn't mean anything by it, believe it or not, I was just commenting on your use of huge fuel injectors (700+cc/min) on cars that were making only 350whp or so. You could have used 600cc/min injectors, but you opted for the 750cc's as minimum in all your cars. Nothing wrong with that, I'm actually a little jealous. If you wanted to run E85 you would be set, no need to change a thing! I on the other hand would have to ditch these puny 510cc injectors I have now.

And we shall!! Log style T3 flange external gate manifolds for everyone!!

What kind of tubing did you use? Like, wall thickness and whatnot.

We call that pipe "Shyt Pipe" because it's actually steel plumbing elbows. It's very thick and you can forget about cracking it as well. I prefer it and so does the guy that made the manifolds for me because I don't have to return to him for cracking like the stainless steel pieces.

Tim, I actually do prefer the bigger injectors because they are easier to tune for me. And size does matter in this case .

It's not my B13, but I had alot to do with getting it up and running. Actually, the customer came to pick-u his car that day and wanted me to drive it for him. He was afraid that the car wouldn't idle with the 1000cc injectors on his internally stock CA18DET. The car was under construction and he had no seats, so I just sat on the floor and showed him what his car and myself was capable of. Money well spent for him . Dee

Well, the guy just called and he wants to give the car to me. He's going through some rough times, so I told him to just think about it. He said he's just going to take off his GT35R and drop the car off this weekend, so I'm like he' serious. So if he drops if off, indeed I'll finish it.

Yeah, but I didn't like his turbo/manifold set-up anyways. Here are more pics of what I got going to this day and my sentra gets a new GT35R:

Some pics of the 240 with Silvia front and CA installed. This is actually a running car that's pretty fast and extremely quiet:

Don't talk crap about my valve covers, either . When I'm in the mood to finish this car, I won't leave out that detail. What's important is that it runs and runs hard. We'll get around to cosmetics later.

Stay tuned girls and boys.

The valve covers match the turbine exhaust housing and down pipe, so at least its all color coordinated.

I heart the lack of CAS and all that idle crap.

Can I have the two tone coupe in your back yard?

A couple more observations: nice exhaust side valve cover breather, or lack thereof. I also like the total lack of intake manifold braces (that weigh 40lbs or so total) that you once advised me not to remove but I did anyway. Better save those for a boat anchor.

The drivers side has been side-swiped, but the passenger side is in excellent condition. The car is clean on the inside and it looks like it had been in some kind of frontal collision somewhere in its life, but nothing all too major.

Dee do you have a write up on how you did your ignition? Are those MSD?Does it require anything special for the ecu to use that setup instead of the standard cop? I like it!

MSD components indeed, but I'm using a standalone engine management system to tune with.

Damn, I was kinda hoping it wasn't all banged up. I woulda thrown a single slammer in that thing and used it for daily driver duty in a second.
