Do you have any sugguestions on this particular turbo?.70ar compressor with the t04b housing and a 2.75" wheel w/.48stage iii exhaust sounds like plusses to me

Using a turbocalculator, the compressor looks like it may be near the surge line with our 1.8 motor though...

Input :D

Sorry I didn't respond fast enough, but this type of turbo is very good for the CA18DET because it will come into full boost before 4000rpm.

Its a authentic Garrett turbo. The ebay turbos are the ones that are copies those are the ones you dont want to trust.

The auction was for a garrett not a knockoff ebay turbo.

That'd be cool if the original poster had said what you said, so let's let him clarify and if not, because it can be misconstrued as offensive, I'll just delete it.

I'm thinking this turbo Miiiiiiiight be a "GARRETT" .70 t04b compressor HOUSING on a SSauto/NON garrett center housing, exhaust housing, and internals.... That scares me a bit...

I do not have a direct e-mail, he has replied through Ebay with me..

Wonder if he offers an "upgrade" to the 360* thrust bearing if it does not already come like that..

Any ideas on the power band of this turbo setup? I'm thinking on 8.5 forged pistons, maaaybe some H/I beam rods, 26X cams, gentle porting/remove casting junk, 550/750 injectors, FMIC, standalone, etc..

I have NOOOOOOOOOOOo problem with a low torque motor down low. I drive suzuki cars/trucks all day. I know what no torque is like. I'm wondering if this will be an "on/off" turbo... Nothing, nothing, nothing, nothing, nothing, then HOLD ON (like being rearended!) powah'!?

probably no ebay internals. He would have no need to falsely state that if they were. You used to see $2-300 brand new garrets on ebay regularly. Many S, V, H-3 with P-trim turbine wheels in big housings. These are probably truck/tractor surplus, so they can sell cheap and why many vendors like bullseye for example, offer turbos built around them.I have that exact T04E 46trim/P-trim as on his ebay store, I bought of a guy for $100 who pulled it from a oe truck.

The one in your link looks like it'll do you fine, as Dee said.

Speaking of ebay, DrDrift on NS.com tunes some hot CA18s with that very same popular $300 ebay T-70(that the honda 1.8, RB25, 7Msupra, guys run). Even at low boost makes impressive power and will give the big hit after 4500... turbo will last longer too.

Seeing u in fl thats why I asked about Evergreen turbo, as he is supposed to be a sharp experienced turbo guy with good prices too - a rare combination today it seems.
