Alrite guys ive been a member here for a while now and every so often jumped on and posted randomly sometimes to ask questions which are usually answered thanks btw, and sometimes to blab on about what ive been doin only to be called a newb and to take my drivel to this section so here i am lol!

Just thought id refresh some memories of how my car looked and how it is now with the new pics i took today of the recent deconstruction.

But just before i do that, it might be a lil while before i post more updates on this so do i just bump this every now and then or can i ask for the thread to remain open? not sure how it works is all. Cheers anyway heres some old pics of when i first got her.

Since then the hood and trunk have been swapped but dont have a pic of them totally forgot to take em lol. feels weird typing hood and trunk when your english, oh well ha. Also the orange strap was holding the exhaust off the ground at the time as the new re-con turbo was in the backseat, i fitted that and fired her up and she ran fine but it was short lived when the fuel line split, crusty old things! Nevermind tho it was coming apart anyway.

And on to the present state...

and my personel rust favourite!...

As you can see ive got my work cut out for me, considering ive never done anything like this before and i have very basic motoring knowledge i think im doin ok so far, its a helluva challenge but im proper enjoying it at the mo, all the rust it guna be cut and welded etc but mainly i just wanna get it down to a shell so i can properly see what im dealing with.

If all else fails and it cant be saved the engine is gettin rebuilt either way so i will just have to buy another one if it goes that way. oh and i bought her for £250 just so yas know. My plan is to build a street car DD not too fussed bout drifting it as i cant drift anyway i just want a nice 200sx that feels custom but also has that rolled out the showroom feel goin on. Also im lookin at around 350-400hp which leads me to a question lol...

What sort of internal upgrades should i be lookin at to make this figure?Im planning on new pistons n rods etc but to be specific what would you guys suggest?

Ok enough for one post thanks for reading hope the pics work if they dont ill be pi**ed lol!

Cheers.

misty blue is the best sleeper colour ever.

but you seriously need to invest in a wire wheel brush. doing that without power tools will take forever.

Yea was pretty damn bad, the frame rails are a little beat up but are solid from what i can see so far but will really tell when its down to a shell.

I prolly wont keep the mud guards so later on down the line you can take them off me if ya want? Let me know and ill keep em safe.

Dammit man it looks like someone parked that thing under a salt truck and let it sit for a year. does the front end flex when you put your weight on it?

Umh, Is the chassis gonna be ok even after you weld that core support? Jw cuz its called a "core" support for a reason.

On the other hand my core support was rusted bad, but not that bad but i welded in a core support form my donor car. Then I took a thick, very thick L shaped piece of steel and wlded that around the core support, and it was long enough to weld to the actual fram on the ends, I wish i had pics cuz it was super rigid and it was an awesome jack point, plus you might want to look into the nismo power brace. Just some food for thought, you can take it or leave, good luck man.

It doesnt flex no its sturdy. As far as i can see at the moment the chassis is strong, theres 1 or to small holes in the floor panels but the panels throughout are really strong which to be honest im surprised about. My sills are fubared tho both sides i mean there is loads to deal with but ill get round to it more when i have pics of all the areas so you guys can check it out.

Oh and nismo power brace is the direction im heading in for sure!

Haha, You beat me to it.

@sikky: Good Luck with everything. I think your mechanical aptitude is a little more advanced than you have described your self. But I think you're a pretty good job. I wouldn't have even taken on a project of this sorts. Two thumbs for that!

Thanks guys, ive got alot of work to do but im enjoying it! Today i didnt get time to do much so just took the ps reservoir out and got the harness ready to come out, just gotta move that damn abs unit cos its trappin the harness in.

I did a lil test wire wheeling on the frame rail and its mainly just surface rust it polished out a treat so cant wait to get everything out so i can start on the body work.

As for sandblasting, im not sure at the mo im in two minds, yea i want to get all the lil rusty spots sorted throughout the car but im wondering if maybe i can just fix the body work then sand and prep myself to save money in the long run? i duno really i guess it depends on funds. ok enough chat im boring you guys.
