heres my situation... ive recently found a 88 starion for $250 stock front mount and an after market turbo... according to the previous owner its a t4/t5 hybrid. he also said that it has an eclipse compressor housing with a differnt compressor wheel. any ways it has a new 5-speed transmission and rear end plus the factory adj. suspension with the 9" wide tires. The reason it is sooo cheap is becuase a rod bearing went out and this is the 3rd motor in that car. my question is would it be worth the intercooler and turbo to buy this car? would this turbo have to much lag? im looking for around 250-275 whp. any info about any of the parts on the starion would be great. I would need to see the turbo, or atleast know the exact specs of it to make that call. The starion intercooler is not very good. The in/out ports are very small. I suppose though you could use alot of the spare parts on the KA if you had to, injectors, fuel lines, piping...etc. So it may be worth the 250. Plus you can sell the rims and tires and part out the rest of the car.

It's a really good parts car and that's about it.

Sell that crappy intercooler on Ebay.

Sell that turbo on Ebay (If it's an Eclipse compressor housing, it's too small for KA. Gonna make for some stupid heat once you pass the 6psi mark. Also, gonna be really inefficient for the KA, resulting in excessive compressor load to meet the engine's demands).

Sell the new trans on Ebay.

Sell the rear diff on Ebay.

Sell the wheels on Ebay.

Call the Kidney Foundation and have them pick up the shell.

Then you'll make some money to buy the right turbo stuff for a KA, if that's what you are after.
