Well. just funished opening up my lights after I decided to bite the bullet and grow a pair since I have OEM HID!!

open up the first in 1:45min. and the second one in 30 min. ( I have down to a science) Oven at 340 F and baking them for 5-6 min. with a metal pan and a wet towel below and obove the light.

Now I need to decide do I color match the inner housing to my car (Precision Gray) or do the blackout.

let me know what do you think?

and if anyone needs pics of the parts/process let me know.

Thanks guys I did a test with gray, and I didn't like it, I'll wait until I have projectors to do that, by the way, it seems like doing a projector retrofit on HID OEM lights is not that hard, It already has a circular cut-out and mounting hardware for the OEM HID bulb. maybe I can just replace bulb with a projector, we'll see.

any one knows where to wire the audi style LED lights to run like DRL? if you do could you post detail instructions like where to draw the power from that is off while the engine is off and on with the engine as well.

It's much appreciate it.

I'll post pics as soon as I finish my weekend project.

NICE! another memeber with baked lights :bigthumb: it makes the car look so much better. I sprayed mine with some flat black paint and it ended up looking almost like I color matched it to my car lol so I got lucky with that one. I didnt do the LED lights so I can't help you out BUT if you search for my thread, there was another member doing their lights at the same time as me and they did LEDs and talked about it. you can find out who it was from my thread and PM them.... he was a nice guy, I just forget who it was.... but ya my thread was titled similar to yours, "baking my lights right now".... It was easier to find using google then the stupid search thing in the forum.

Yo Grey Coupe email me I can send you some info when I get home. I have audi lights currently (15) 10mm leds in each headlight. I can send you some pics and tell you how to do it. I currently have mine hooked up the battery and run to a swtich so I can turn them on and off as I please. I dont like them hooked up to the headlights cause it looses the affect of the Audi style.

My email is [email protected] you can also add me on facebook I have a few pics up there. Let me know what questions you have. Are you going flex strip or single led??

Looks really good; did you use spray tint on the amber piece, or did you use the same spray paint you used on the housing piece?

I used Nite Shade tint on the reflective surface (SIDE VIEW) and black paint on the 3/4 of the front view that way it's still legal.
