well im sick of drivin around with this stupid motor knocking all the time and not knowing when it will die out on me in the middle of traffic so im rippin at apart.
now im goin to school for rebuilding motors so i kinda get the whole point of it i just need to know what parts are good or bad couse im on a budget on this one. i was lookin at the ebay kit and it looks alright but for sure i wouldnt use the bearings or rod studs ill get arp ones. i also would like to know what the estimate price is for a bore and hone. and port and polish. now once i get all this good stuff in i was going to boost it with the cxracing kit i use there items all the time and i like em.
i would do a rb20 swap that is the swap i would do if needed. but im sure if i put the 1500 in this motor it will be faster then a rb20.
so if anyone had any info on this please help a fellow 240er out

If your on a budget you don't always need a bore and hone rebuild. I just rebuilt my motor with npr ka24e piston n rings, arp head studs and bolts, acl bearings and an OEM Nissan gasket kit. All together it cost me 500 and i did all the work at home by myself. Good luck with the rebuild.

Are you talking about the ebay ka24de rebuild kit for Around $250-$400?? Idk about that. If its ebay brand rebuild kit, it really wont be nissan, and since its generic, you never know how long it will last, and how durable the internals are under boost!. I would get an oem nissan rebuild kit, but idk where to find them. Then do ALL arp hardware. Maybe you have to go to the parts dept. at nissan for oem rebuild kit?? But ya, do you have a youtube account? post some vids when you get it all done! Im 240sxGuy3 on youtube. If you rebuild the ka and do a cx racing turbo kit, and your pushing 7 psi... its still not enough to be faster than an RB20 swap!! I would do the RB20 swap. Less work, faster, and you cant beat the sound of an RB engine!!

Just take care of your motor until then and put in the RB, that seems to be the easier way to me. Me personally I rebuilt my KA

RB20 has nothing on Kat.... Look at the torque the ka will have when turbo'ed. But what's your budget?? I mean get oem pistons from courtesy. Bearings and arp hardware from frsports...

RB20 will have something on the KA-T! If he is just buying a cx racing turbo kit, and a basic rebuild... the stock RB20 will still be leaving the KA-T in the dust! Its a straight 6 turbo! Was in the R32 Skyline! If he builds up the ka a bit with rebuild, and does turbo, all new fuel system and a good tune... maybe! But ill admit the KA's got some torque!!

Well if you had to sell the ka, when ever you want too, how much would want for it?? Depending on the time of your sale I might just pick it up to do a long but a strong build on it....
