Best detector for the money IMO, I have one and love it.

Hit up StealthCords.com and tell them you're down with NICO - they have a hookup for you.

that is pretty much the best one to get with the least amount of false alarms and whatnot, i bought the same one myself. little story here about mine ha.

i bought the exact detector at worstbuy (i too hate that place) and it is amazing. first night i had it in my old 06 altima i came floating up over a little hill on the highway at about 105 and it started chirping like hell. i JUST hooked it up before me and my friend went to go visit this broad so i didnt even glance at the booklet yet to see what the signals meant. when it started chirping i was passing a tractor trailer so im like "dude think its pickin something up off the truck?" since we didnt know if it could do that and the beeping was getting faster, im like better slow down. i slowed it down to 70 with a quickness and got in the right lane. soon as i come up over the hill theres a statey sitting in the middle clocking people. had i not had that thing there was NO WAY i would have seen him over the crest of the hill. i just looked at the detector, looked at my friend, looked at the detector again and said "boner city". its well worth the buy, the way i see it what i spent on it that day, i would have had that much in fines plus my license revoked. it always saves me while traveling state to state as im sure itll do the same for you.

Sounds like its well worth it, rofl at 'boner city'. BTW What would a cop do if he saw/knew that you had a radar detector?

i see your from pitt as well, so the police around here can do nothing since they are legal. only time you can get in any trouble for them is if your using in a state that they are illegal. they are illegal in only a few states from what i remember reading, but the one i think that is most strickly inforced is VA. i heard if you get caught with one, you will be fined out the *** and car can be impounded. when i have to travel down south i use it threw VA, just really carefully. it saved me from the ghetto bird they had monitering the highway last time going threw. if it picks up a signal it gets unplugged ASAP and i drive normal speeds for the next 10 miles or so. after that its steady cruising in trpple digits again.

I have the BEL Pro RX65 and love it..I have it clipped under the passenger side sunvisor and wired into the mirror. There is a guy on ebay that sells the mirror cords. If you dont have the compass/dimming mirror maby wire it to the dome light? On the Altima it being this high picks up lazer/radar better from behind IMO

Just checked out there webpage (there prices include shipping) so even cheaper then what I paid on ebay. If you have a powered mirror this is like a 5 minute job. Im ordering one for my dads new car now..thx for the link!

HAHA wowww my dad has the same one in his maserati and we were going towards annaplis and he had it plugged in and he was booking it as usual. we both heard it beep like crazy and slowed down immediately. The cop pulled us over, i immediately unplugged it and put it in my pants. He FREAKED out saying he saw us from a far speeding (which is impossible unless he has some crazy vision) and he basically said we HAD to have had a leser detector in the car. My dad let him search the car, but he never searched us personally....but he was pissed and said that we got lucky. what a C**T

Real nice guy that runs the site. Placed my order this morning for a black 8" cord to run to the mirror... I thought the x50 was broken when i hooked it up... its just that theres no false alarms! Also... whats the solution to being able to see/hear the thing in glare or with the music on louder than 15.

yea they are VERY strict about them. i was on my way from PA to TN for races over thanksgiving weekend. it was the day after thanksgiving (black friday) and im doin about 115. me and my friend see a sign saying "speed limit enforced by aircraft". im thinkin its a little snowy out, crappy skys and flying weather, and the day after a holiday, no aircraft is out monitering. so about 5 minutes later im still doing about 110/115 on a stretch of highway that is lined with woods. out of no where this dam appachie type helicopter comes ripping over the woodline and right up the highway toward me, i dam near shat myself. had my friend take the radar off and put it away under the seat. i thought i was done because they usually got a cop on the ground a few miles ahead waiting for you to pass them. i drove at like 70 for the next half hour and had my friend keep sliding the sunroof door open to see if we had company hovering right above us. after that, back to speed. on my way back threw VA soon as i get in my detector goes crazy pickin up all these random cars. here they are all like civilian cars but equipped with radar guns and police inside. about 1 out of every 40 cars was a cop. people pulled over about every 6 miles. it was rediculus. i dred driving down to woodbridge VA at the end of the month

ah where is that sign....i have seen it a million times, never thought anything of it though. thats quite a story though. but yea there is a black 350Z all blacked out that tries to race people and inside there is a cop. f'in Virginia...but i have gotten away with the craziest stuff in my I-4 since i got my license and car....but last week in my dads tahoe i get two tickets and a warning in one pull-over

well thanks for the heads up on the 350Z, if it tired to race me id probly bite and take off if i didnt know any better. im the type thats quick to do 100 down the shoulder of the highway. when people try and race me on the highway i drive real high risk like and do everything to win. luckly im crusing dam fast in the left lane at all times so no one tries to bother. i have to be in a mad hype mood to race in the first place, but when i do every once in a blue moon its on. guess thats why my friend that went to TN with me said he will NEVER go on a road trip with me again. but he did find it funny when i messed with some poor guy in a kia for literatly 25 minutes till we were comming to a red light and he cut off 3 lanes of traffic and parked behind a gas station. he then was breakin his neck to stare at us till we drove out of site. howls for days we had.

I'll have to watch my *** in about a month when I'm headed from Pittsburgh down to North Carolina, I'll be traveling through VA a large portion of the trip.

Luckily I won't have the Coupe so I won't be putting all of those miles on it and won't be going as fast. Probably would have been a fun drive in it though.

I've got a semi-cheap Cobra radar detector in the Eclipse, I might think about upgrading to this when the Coupe comes in.

Wire goes around the visor then into map/dome light cover down the channel for the power mirror to the plug..only see about an inch (the plug part detector side)

Why not put it on the windshield right in the dot matrix around the rearview mirror? It's pretty stealth from anyone being able to see it and you won't be able to see the cord.

I guess a guy makes custom rearview mirrors for the Valentine 1, pretty interesting idea. A little expensive @ 240$ but check this out:

This same guy also does conversions for the 350z's gauge color.
