Ok here's the deal. I have about $7,500. Here's what I want.

And after all that if I can manage it maybe Z32 brakes redrilled for four lug.

Anyway What do you think? Any suggestions? I kind of like the S14 Zenki Body but at this point I couldn't afford to make it into the car that I desire.

first off , welcome to NICO, i hope u find everyone here very helpful and informative, also, we hear this typr of post all the time, try searching this site as many have the same ideas as you. You have the right idea, its just a matter of getting it all to fall in place and work correctly, also, a 94 fastback is almost IMPOSSIBLE TO find, it was the last year for the s13's and it seems half of em were convertibles, not to mention it was only made for about 6 months of 94, itd be much easier to find a 91-93 (all the same KA24DE motor anyway), good luck with your car, stick around, we're glad to have you aboard

Actually I've been a member of Nico for about six months I've just been going through an entire ****load of old posts to not say anything stupid. And I have found three 1994 Fastbacks within 100 miles of where I live. One isn't an SE and another one has seen better days. However the last one is in pristine condition for $1500 125kmiles.

They were not 94 Fastbacks, I guarantee you that.

Unless you live in Japan.

Yeah, I'd really like to see a 94 fastback personally...(94s only came as Auto Verts)

Maybe I was wrong but the owner of the one that I like (the clean SE) said it was the last year that the S13 was produced. Maybe he meant the Fastback or maybe they were stopped early in the year who knows but if I buy it I'll find out.

Maybe he bought it in 94, but I GUARANTEE it's not a 94 model.

Unless everything that has been said on the internet regarding model year changes was a lie. Which is entirely possible.

Yes It IS possible but however it is not very likely so until I find out I will assume it is a 1993 so as to skip any unneccesary commentation. Nevertheless, after arguing over what year it is do you have any suggestions/comments OTHER than arguing over the year. Sorry if I sound mean it's just that I think that it is a fairly petty thing to argue over. You said what you have been told, I said what I had been told. End of story.

looks like it will be a nice car. just remember, if all that stuff adds up to near ur $7,500 mark it is very unlikley that u will get everything on there. everything turns out costing more than planned. u have to remember the tools, shipping costs, installation (if not done by urself), etc....

yeah, my project had a $7000 "limit", the bill is now running upwards of 13 grand.

The CA is a cool motor, i know a few people with them and they love em. Just make sure you get what you want and not what someone else tells you to get.

It actually Turns out to be about $6,000 with a couple of deals from friends. In all reality "Stage 1" as I'm calling it will probably add up to between $8,000 and $9,000. Yeah I will be doing most of the Installation myself. And the reason I want the CA is because I got into imports in the first place because of technology. As far as redtop/CA comparison goes, the CA is slightly "higher tech" just too expensive for Nissan to keep making a profit out of. The KA is waaay too much like a V-8 with DOHC heads for me. Plus I love revs, originally being a non-ricer Honda Guy, and I don't think the KA or even the SR "fit" the S13 fastback in the way the CA18DET does. And I don't mean size restrictions, just the "feel" of it. I know that sounds ricey, but it's also cheaper than an SR so deal with it.

like I said whatever floats your boat... I had a CA in my 180 before I dropped an SR in there. I like the SR a lot better. in the words of denis miller....that's just my opinion I could be wrong.

yes nissan only made convertibles in 94, however most people say 'the last year for s13's' because they dont even know 24o's were made in 94 (93 was the last year for fastbacks ), and back to teh discussion. You seem like you have your head on straight, and have a decent plan of what you're going to do with the car. Sure some people won't agree with you on the ca18det bt, but o well, its your car and your money, just consider a couple things that will come into play if you get the CA. First off, the SR has a much larger 'install base' in the u.s, and will be much easier to find parts for. The SR does also have many more people that know about them and how to work on them, so help will also be easier to find. But if u know what you're doing, and are prepared to spend all of your time and money on this car, go for it, and best of luck. Take pics for us ;), and u know where to come for help

Is the offset on those wheels you are planning to get 42? 42 is kind of high for a 240sx. If i remember correctly a better offset is something closer to 25 or 30. Also the wheels look cheap. I would forget the audio and use that money to get some decent wheels.

and hey driftrps13... i don't see anything ricey about his list... or maybe you don't like that he is putting a body kit on... but you should leave people alone... they can do what they want and you shouldn't give them crap about there own disesion...

I don't see how anything on my list is very "ricey" besides maybe the audio and the bodykit. Besides I like the lines when somebody gets a decent bodykit. I like the lowered look of the car. And for the price I don't really care all that much if it ends up being all that performance oriented or not. Yes the wheels are a 42 offset. However I can't find decent clean five spokes without going forged, Japanese, and imported(read expensive). So unless you can direct me to a site that offers a wheel very similar to the ones that I have selected, or similar to Advan TC-II's. Then they will be staying on my list.

Oh and another thing. If I can find the money for it I would like to get a Phantom Grip LSD, if it is offered for the 240. I had immaculate success with it in my ZC powered EF Hatchback(1991 Honda Civic). Offering the seamless use of a VLSD with the clamping power of a clutchplate and the turning abilities of a gear type differential. This IS the LSD. Also it's like half the price of a traditional LSD and much easier to install.

Yeah I have checked out pretty much all of the SR vs. CA discussions and read most of them. Well, at least until they got to the "my engine is better than yours so boohoo" kind of thing.

i had +45 offset 18x7.5inch wheels on my 240 back in the day, they worked fine. Stock s13 dimensions are 15x6 with +40 offset.
