Does anyone have a good method of removing the pinstripe thing that goes all the way around the mid-bottom of the car? Mine is faded to hell and makes the car look like 30 years older than it really is. I would paint it with some model paint, but this might be more efficient if theres a good way to go aorund it.

I got my car painted and told them not to put that back on when they finished. It looks a thousand times better without it.

Just start at one end and slowly lift it up like a piece of tape. If your lucky, it will stick to itself more than the car and you will be able to peel a lot of it off. You will definately get some residual and you should use a few soft cotton rags and a bottol of OOPS or 3M Adhesive Remover. The paint will be fine.

The car looks very nice without it!

Cool, thanks for the advice. I'll definitely give the peel it up thing a shot. Its painted underneath it too? That'd be great.

Yeah it’s painted underneath, and WD-40 works awesome at getting all of the left over goo off.

Do you have any miracles for rust spots? I've got the infamous hatch rust. I'm not to concerned aobut it, I know there are some really complicated ways to stop it, but I'd rather quarentine it then stop it from spreading because its kinda inevitable.

I just recently took off my pinstrips with a lot of time, straight razors and goo gone... best to run the goo gone over the strips for a few moments saturating it as much as possible then strip off with razor..... clean up glue residue with shop rag soaked in goo gone... remember to re wax considering that goo gone strips wax.

I just removed my pinstripe by just pulling it off. Heat helps it come off better, so I just left it in the sun before I started. Go slow and only raise the stripe at a small angle off the car, otherwise a lot of the adhesive stays behind. I used goo gone to get it off. It took several hours, but looks a lot better.
