i work at a mazda dealer and can get a hella deal on a new mazdaspeed protege. which i really like. to get it though i have to sell my s14 which i hope can get 5500 for. i have stuff on my 240 but it seems everytime i want to get something new for it something breaks or wears out and have to spend the money to replace. i just cant decide. sorry just venting i guess.

What kind of deal are we talking bout here? I like the little speed proteges. If you can get a good deal I say go for it.

consider investing the money you would otherwise spend on the difference, back into your 240.

come on, new KA or SR, some z32 brakes and bmc, and a full set of whiteline bushings.

I would look at the srt4 long before I looked at the protege. srt4 is built to hell, protege, not so much. Im a fool though, so go wander their forums.

i know a Mazda MP3 is quicker around a road course than my S13, which is quicker than the SRT4. so a mazdaspeed car (turbo MP3) would be still faster...?? if road racing is your thing. it sure is mine -Enzo

i saw one of those new turbo proteges, in that funky orange colour, run a 13.5 at a track thats 3500 above sea level. looked like it just came off the showroom floor but he obviously had some knick knacks done...

for one, a boost controller would be a given

i can get it for about 17,600 instead of 21000 sticker. i do autox so handling is the most important. i wasnt AMAZED by the acceleration of it but there is plent of room to go with the turbo. and i dont like the FF either i still cant decide

I read in SCC a while ago that the mazda speed protoge is one of the best handeling cars you can get for under $20,000. I also read in the same article that it has an extremely restrictive exaust(same one used on the regular non-turbo protoge) and replacing it along with adding a boost controler will make the car scream.
