both quality, but i would go with Bimmer. they seem to outlast anything on the road.

Both great choices. It boils down to what you want to do with the car. If you're going to use it on the track on weekends, (like Watkins Glen, not a dragstrip) the choice is easy - used M3, A G35 is no slouch, but an M3 is an amazing machine on the track. I've driven some. Awesome. But if this is to be your daily driver, a used M3 will cost you more to maintain, and repair than the G35. No doubt. Plus you won't have the warranty protection that you'll have with a new G35.

You really can't go wrong with either car. Enjoy.

i think it depends on how long you intend to keep it, the older 95ish m3's are pretty slow, plus parts for bimmers are more expensive than nissan parts, i say g35 coupe and wait for a tt kit to come out for it, thne get some oem japanese r35 skyline badging for it..PIMP

it was just this winter, I got a 96 s14, and my dad got a G35 6MT:ylsuper that **** maw fuggin rocks. Handles great, great on the corners, man he took that crap up to 130, Its got some serious pickup. Shifts hella smoother than a bmw. I used to drive a 88 535i, so maybe its cause its older, but I like these nissans cause of the smooth shift.

But interior wise, you shouldnt be disappointed, the only thing that I dont like is the fact that the volume button is on the right side of the dash display. WTF was infiniti/nissan thinking, that **** goes on the left at ALL times. anyhow, thats my quick synopsis. I'll write more if you like, lemme know

The G35 will ahve great warrnty great Infinti service is FAST great future and beautiful.

The M3 is s abit edgier which I like, BUT:The M3 will be <very> expenive to maintain.BMW has had quality issues for some time plus the parts are more expensive than Infiniti parts.

I would only consider a BMW, if I got a special deal from a Buddy who has taken absoultly meticilous care of it and who is selling to me for waaay under book.

Otherwise the M3's are just way too fragile for me.

Fred...:)

i hang out with a bunch of M3s, they rock, and if u get in with other Bimmer owners just like u have 240 owners here, it makes everything a lot easier, and also, if u get into the BMWCCA and the like there are lots of hookups for them... u just gotta look around to find wats out there.

But, i also love the G35 coupe and i know it would be a wonderful car too, havent really gotten a chance to see one of these up close yet, but do like them still, theres one at a local performance shop (pearl white, lowered on 19" HRE 6spokes) which looked REALLY good. But i still say M3.

where in the world did you hear this????

if you consider mid to low 14's stock slow, then I guess you are correct on your assumption. Sorry 4 being so mean but I must stick up for my bmw here!!!!

I am in the same delema as s14srdet, but I am also including the choice of the new Z.

The bmw is older, and interest rates will be higher on the loan, trust me!!!, I have searched. Plus there will be no warranty and the insurance "beleive it or not" is actually higher than both the new Z and the G35.

The new Z is about 200lbs lighter than the G35 and offers relatively about 7more horse and 10ft lbs of torque (somewhere in that range +-3) and I am guessing there would be a good amount of diff. in terms of power. Also the extra wght dosen't help with body roll.

The new G35 is obviously more refined and elegant, but it is only $800 more "base" than the new Z "enthusiast model". Surprising but understandable.

Another thing to note is that the new Z has only a 3 yr. rust warranty with 3yr/36,000 mile warranty compared to the new G with a 4yr rust warranty and a 4yr/48,000mile warranty standard.

Personally, i am going with the new Z or G. Maintinence will be def. too high for the M3. I will just wait until I get outta college to get a 2k3 or newer SMGII M3.

Hope this helps.....

I would go with the the G35 mostly for reasons of it being newer and cheaper to maintain.

Was your Eclipse a turbo?? a lightly moded eclipse gs would have a hard time keeping up with a 240sx "thats stock".

Also, remember they are a 3200lb luxury sports car that is an i6 that runs low to mid 14's stock.

They are rare, they are beutiful, they handle exceptional, and they are fast imho.

matt24: slightly modded eclipse?? hmmm by slightly modded do you mean T3/O4 turbo FMIC wit nitrous vs auto M3 from 89'...? yeah i know M3 autos are not that fast (my friend she has a 95 M3 and it's not that bad) but from your post it seems as if you beat them like i do riced out cars on foot.

matt24: I was just thinking to myself and I just thought about how many FAKE M3's are out there. Yes there are many many look-a-like M3's out there. Many 3 series have the M3 wheels and somepeople even put the M3 badging on their car. There are 2 in my city alone.

no they were def m3's two diffrent cars, no 325 could even try to hang, my eclipse ran 13.6 @106 slow time high mph so it rolled out good on the highway, was a fwd turbo with a pretty small turbo, 18g 17psi on pump gas, stock ic stock motor stock injectors, just afc exhaust and fuel pump, imo for the money i spent om my eclipse and the money they spent on the m3 ij ust think it is a slow car, i'm not knocking them i love the looks, and the turbo m3 that some eurotuner built is bad ***, but to get that kind of performance costs mad coin, sure an m3 will get the looks but i'm just saying it was pretty slow imo

If that is a your opinion of a mild moded eclipse, I guess I can see why you think low 14's is slow.
