OK most of you probably don't remember but I posted a long time ago when I got my car that I had bubbled paint issues. Well here is the bad news, I found more bubbles while debadging the car today. . I am getting quite frustrated with this. The next thing I was wondering was if I have to wait awhile until the letters fade away. I used 3M adhesive remover to get the goo off, then I clay bared, waxed, and clayed again and can still see the letters pretty bad. Did anyone else have this problem when debadging? I am going to work on the car more tomorrow and we will see what happens but any help would be appreciated. I could take pictures but I don't know if it will show up. So I might post some pics later.

Sorry to hear that bro. I remember your post. I think the heat gun works better to debadge.

If you dont debadge when its new, this will happen.

YOu can probably get rid of it by using a polishing compound.

Is it really that bad? I was planning on debadging the INFINITI this weekend... I'm sure it'll fade over time, or you can probably buy something to even it out.

OK it is not really THAT BAD...but it is bad enough. I read a bunch of internet posts about doing it and there are people that have done this to 5-10 year old cars with no adverse affects. My car is an 07 so lets figure it has been around for a maximum of 2 years at the dealership for most of that time. I would hope that the paint hasn't faded that much. If I get a rubbing compound am I not going to have to get a buffer? Keep me posted I will be busy washing, claying, and waxing today. Also I forgot to mention that there are two tiny spots where the adhesive pulled the clear coat off. CHEAP *** PAINT. The paint nissan puts on is **** there is no reason that it should have done this. And I was extremely careful when taking the badges off, is it wasn't because I was doing it haphazardly. The dealership may be repainting my trunk anyways since I found more bubbles, but I know they are going to say it is because I took the badges off, should be a fun argument...

Sorry to bring this back but I just debadged my car and I have the same problem with TurboDurbo. So I need to buy rubbing compound to hopefully smooth it out? Its dark now so I'll wait til tomorrow to post pics.

I debadged mine 9 months ago. You used to be able to see it, but sun faded it to match a little, and I had wetsanded it also. The wetsanding really didn't help a lot, but the sun will fade it out a little.

this is normal fading. the best to do is make it less noticable and if that ignores you i think its time for a repaint or wait till some one rear end you

It's not just the fading but there's paint bubbles too..... would that go away over time too? Or I was just thinking about painting the emblems black chrome and putting it back on.

The bubbles are permanent. Pray that they don't break/pop, and expose the metal beneath.

Personally, I would put the badging back on if I were you. It looks like it's only repairable by repainting the trunk lid.

Ya I was considering either repainting or rebadging it. But if I decide to rebadge, I'm thinking of painting the emblems black. I'm still undecided if I want black chrome or flat black. Hopefully I'll get some feedback from the meet when others see it in person. I'm hoping that painting the emblems black would match the c/f lip and splash guards I'm going to get from Silentbydesign

Sorry I lost track of this thread I have been busy but, here are the pics of mine. Yours looks a lot worse than mine. I might be able to have the dealership repaint mine since I found more bubbling, but we will see.

Can only see it if you look at it just right.

Thanks, I had a post about it a while back. I got the idea from a Lambo that I saw with 8B8B88B or something like that.

IC. I was thinking of at least getting rid of the G35 on the back on my car, but after seeing this, i dunno................. Hipe things work out for you. Looks like just adhesive residue to me. Have you tried hitting it with some goo gone and a good clay bar? just thinking outloud.
